This video could not have come at a better time...not only have I been looking for New Years cake ideas, but I TOO received a bunch of chocolates for Christmas. The whole thing is like a big firework, but made of CHOCOLATE, which is so much better :P I think instead of using the candles I'll make a marquee. The Wilton channel posted a tutorial on how to make one out of fondant, and I think it's so adorable. Thank you!

In the UK the peppermint chocolates is called matchmakers

The second chocolate that you didn't know the name of are called 'freckles' in Australia. It's like Candy melts (we call them chocolate buttons) with hundreds and thousands on them which you call sprinkles. Sprinkles to us are the tube looking ones cut in to small pieces.

This cake is absolutely amazing!! HOWEVER... I think this is WAAAYYY to much chocolate. Even for Chocoholics, this would be a bit much. & I'm a chocoholic myself... I was wondering if instead of chocolate cake & buttercream, could it be substituted for vanilla cake & buttercream? & then top it off with the chocolate ganache & candies? Just so that the chocolate won't be so overpowering. Would that idea work just as well for this recipe? Awesome job!! I absolutely love your channel!! This is really a perfect cake I wonder if you could do the same process but with cupcakes and instead of wire could you just use pretzals or stack clear sugar candy on top of each other and then use frosting as a glue then put the chocolate candy on top
