So I loved the method, but medium well😱😭 That’s like a stake through my heart…no pun intended…okay maybe a little.

Lol! I'm glad you liked it. I usually cook steaks medium but have people I've been trying to lure from the "well done" zone so I gave them a happy medium [well]. 😅

Good job! Why just sear one side? And please dont you dare medium well again ever, and call it the best stake, we good? Keep it up!

Thanks for watching! I cooked the steak on medium heat so the fat had time to render and spread through the meat so having the steak in contact with the pan as long as possible is the best way to get a sear. I'd have to overcook the steak to sear the second side. The result is a thicker crust on one side but the rest of the steak is soft like butter. I knew the medium well would be controversial! 😅 Gotta get them talking somehow! lol

Hey dude- you missed a lot of phenomenal steaks and listed many of the most common ones that everyone has heard of. Second- "not touching your steak" has been debunked by kenji alt-lopez and americas test kitchen, along with many, many other chefs.

I listed common ones people can buy at the grocery store since not everyone carries a porterhouse. I'm not sure what there is to "debunk" about not touching your steak. At the end of the day, it's food. The purpose is to eat it, and as long as it tastes delicious there's not much to be mad about. Thanks for watching!
