Why do you use wood ash to cook with? Is it for flavor? Or is it nutritionally good for you? I never heard of it and would think it’s not healthy??

My mom told me they used to use it to tenderize meat n its used in vegetables to make it cook fast n maintain its green color. Its not bad for you my mom also told me when they use wood they use a specific type of wood that is not poisonus so there are no bad effects

I see you women are bending your backs a lot. The back will hurt in later life. Bend your knees and squat to sit while cooking as we do in India. Also use a cloth napkin to hold the cooking pots. The napkin can be made from old clothes.
