Surprise Surprise! You probably didn't expect a new episode so soon (me too to be honest) but it's raining pretty bad on Koh Samui (everyday) with stormy wind, which forced me to stay indoors and transform into editing machine lol! Hope you'll enjoy the new video just like i enjoyed this new experience. Have a nice Sunday and a new week!

Mickey... My student with great cooking skills 😆 Seeing the video now makes me think back to a really wonderful day that we were able to spend together. It was so nice to see how you were working yourself through all these challenges like pounding curry paste or tasting raw ingredients like shrimp paste. You did an awesome job 🤩 Thank you so much for coming to our place and for creating such a beautiful story around our home and around our traditional and natural way of cooking Thai food... Looking forward to having you here again someday in the future. Enjoy the rainy days and enjoy delicious Southern Thai food whilst here on Koh Samui 😻
The teacher is great, the best lesson is teaching you to balance the taste of the menu that is very important for Thai foods

I’m a Southern Thai person who was born and raised in Songkhla for more than 19 years before moving to study and work in Bangkok. I will say these dishes are the real Southern Thai food. For me, they are the most delicious Thai dishes. I usually cook them myself and sometimes order them from Southern Thai restaurants in Bangkok although they are quite expensive here. When coming back to my hometown, Songkhla, I always ask my mom to cook them because I really love them all. Have a great time in Thailand, Mickey.

Glad to know you've enjoyed this episode! I've learned a lot about Southern Thai cuisine this day!
I am absolutely obsessed with Yings passion to revive ancient Thai cooking using natural ingredients and her philosophy and knowledge of it... The reason i started learning how to read and speak Thai 7 years ago was to be able to understand ancient recipes that haven't been translated yet. Every white-washed recipe aims to taste like a local Thai restaurant in the west which to begin with is missing 75% of the explosive flavours, fragrance and textures because most westerners can't handle the pungency of each element.
Amazing friendly people. I will for sure take some lessons next time i visit Samui. Thank you Mikey for the Video. ❤❤

OMG Mickey ... I absolutely LOVED this video. It was so fun to watch you interacting with locals. Especially doing something so closely related to your heart. Eating. Joking aside, this was fantastic. I know you are required to change your format because of YT rules, this kind of change would be most welcome I believe. Thank you for once again, providing a great video, based in the amazing Thai culture. Ying seems to be a very engaging teacher for such an intricate art. Thank you Ying for taking the time to help us Farang to understand better your craft and the taste of such a wonderful food.

อธิบายละเอียดเก่งมากเลยค่ะ ถ้าทำไม่เป็นก็แย่แล้ว ขอปรบมือให้เลยค่ะ..she explains very clear every step for cooking..👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 but every side dish have it with rice.. especially southern food Thailand.. and have fried fish or thai omelette reduce the spiciness..
