After yesterday's solar oven success, we see how long it takes to cook an egg on the hottest day of the year. Hint... It's a lot shorter than it took to video but I wasn't going to stand out in the sun watching it!

I should apologise for the portrait mode, turns out I couldn't see very well in the sun 🤣 And as it was almost impossible to stand outside next to it, it ended up getting very overdone!

Good experiment. I think it's fancy, something different Karen. Mind yourself pet.

Even though I don't eat eggs it was still good to see the experiment for scientific purposes.

Well none of us were eating that one! I felt sorry to waste an egg though. I've seen a few eggs cooked like this and they took a couple of hours so I was surprised it was this much overcooked in half an hour.

Brilliant!!! its so interesting how it literally dehydrated in that time xox

I am realising its showing how efficient the solar cooker is. The shortest time I've seen for cooking an egg on hot metal in the sun is 2 hours!

Hi Annie! I'd seen people doing it in 2 hours, I'd never have thought 20 minutes would be overdoing it!

That is a great idea! Thankfully it's a bit cooler today so I'm not sure it'd work now but I will bear that in mind for future, thank you 🥰

I thought, oh a fancy video style, just read your comment below. Come here that's so weird isn't it, never saw the white of a egg turn that colour. Mind yourselves. Saw some of the videos of London. Stay safe, and mindyourselves, anyone reading this from affected areas.

Lol I should have just tried to style it out as if it was a tictok! 🤣 I beleive the egg was dehydrating/evaporating. Definitely out too long! My mother in law lives North of London and she says she can smell all the fires around 😔
