I love that chonny and his dad are bonding. Seriously warms my heart 🥺❤️ I never did these things with my dad as I got older and he passed away from cancer in January. I miss him so much and if anyone is reading this, hug your parents tight and spend as much time with them as possible. Time flies and we all get so caught up in our own lives to realize our parents are getting old and tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Chonny's dad is a gem! Such a good sport and always bright and cheerful. But how did they ever communicate since Chonny can't speak Vietnamese and his dad has trouble understanding English sometimes. I guess Chonny is speaking too fast for him to catch on. And his mom is Chinese. So I don't know how that worked out between his parents.... either they know Vietnamese mutually or Cantonese mutually. And Chonny only speaks some Canto if I'm not mistaken. I suspect a lot of confusion in the household growing up.

Future cooking tip: wet a paper towel, place it on the cutting board, and chop! The wet paper towel absorbs the oils from the onion so you won't cry :3
