We just bought the same unit less than a week ago. I put the wind screen on backwards also but fixed it after looking at the manual. We bought ours specifically for canning and by now you probably realize that the paint needs to be burned off the grates. The bottom of my canner was black with soot and paint residue stuck to it. I heated both sides and scraped the paint off the grates with a piece of hardwood. Then I used a wire cup brush on a angle grinder and cleaned up both sides of the grates. After that, it’s a sweet unit and we’ll be canning with it for the rest of our lives. The camp chef logo is supposed to be facing into the unit.

You both have to try "Peanut Butter Popcorn"😋It's very easy to make: either plain popcorn that you pop yourself or microwave plain popcorn( about 3 bags).....In a saucepan bring to boil 1cup sugar and 1 cup kero syrup(clear). When sugar is all dissolved add 1 cup peanut butter. Mix well then dizzle over popcorn. I usually do layers in long pan so the popcorn gets covered. *Caution: very addictive!😂 You can warm it up in microwave when peanutbutter get stiff ( usually the next day.) Hope you try it! 😊 You can also do half of this receipe...(1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup kero syrup 1/2 pb. This was a very nice visit. Dinner & cookies looked so yummy!😋

Oh my Lord, y’all are going to love that griddle. My husband got a Camp Chef & is obsessed. He cooks breakfast, lunch & dinner on it. You will find some awesome recipes to cook on the Blackstone You Tube Channel. We have made several of them. My husband says don’t get it too hot to start. Let it come up to heat slow. We have seen videos where they warp if you start with too high heat. Be sure to season it too like your cast iron.

Corey, I want you to know that you are allowed to cook (or not) whatever you like. The broccoli stems are good to eat too. There was a time when I threw them away. Then, once when we were on vacation, we ate a broccoli stem appetizer in a Chinese restaurant. It is very simple. Peel the broccoli stems. Shape them as you like keeping in mind that they should be more or less equal in size. I steam them. While they are hot, dress them with some soy sauce--a little goes a long way so add it carefully. Then add some tahini and a little lime juice. You can serve these at room temperature or chill and serve as a cold appetizer. Since Austin likes all peanut-based recipes he probably will like the tahini dressing. If you don't like this, the internet has lots of other recipes for using stems. I wish you well. God bless.

I hope you didn’t throw out the broccoli stems! My favorite part of broccoli is to peel the stems, and eat them like carrot sticks. Yum! Also, you are probably in an area where you have easy access to raw peanuts. My absolute favorite cookies are made with raw peanuts. I wish I had my Aunt’s recipe, but there are likely several recipes on line. I believe that you can even add raw peanuts to the tops of peanut butter cookies. Thx for your channel!

All guys have got to have their grill/camp stove.......And I just love your porch swing......That is a real American thing and we don't really have those in Australia. You can tell I am a bit obsessed with Southern American Plantation Homes though because our house model was the closest thing I could get to a Southern Plantation style home at an affordable price.....It's like a mini-version......We too have our own traditional style homes with porches in Australia and they are called Queenslanders. Sadly many R being bull-dozed to make way for more boring box-style homes.
