Followed Susan's recipe for Cooking Pork Tenderloin today. Susan is a first-rate teaching chef. I say this because I'm a bit of a novice in the kitchen, and was able to follow her instructions easily, and produced a wonderful meal that was enjoyed by all my guests. Molto bene, Susan!

It has been years since I've cooked and served pork tenderloin, because It did not turn out very well, so I thought I'd try one again. I bought a plump 1.80 pork tenderloin that was pre-seasoned with garlic and lemon. Then I searched for "How to cook a pork tenderloin" I choose your video to watch and I must say; I cooked that baby like a pro! lol. It was so simple and amazingly fast. Now for the best part; My tenderloin (your instructions) was beautifully colored, heavenly delicious and so tender that every bite literally melted in our mouth! Thank you so much Susan, Chef Susan Odell! :)

Great video. Best tip was putting protection over the skillet handle after removing from oven...I bought those covers immediately after learning the hard way.....since we use the skillet a lot more frequently on the stove top, we are not as used to using it in the oven and it's easy to forget that the handle is HOT!!! Thanks again for the video...

I went out to the freezer this morning to grab some pork chops for supper and saw a tenderloin sitting just begging to be cooked. Decided to try the sear and roast version you posted. SCORE! Dusted it with some kosher salt and cracked black pepper, seared it in a cast iron skillet and roasted it on 350 for 15 minutes (it was only 13 oz). Turned out perfect and was super simple. Thanks for posting this!

Browning the tenderloin and then putting it in the oven is my absolute favorite way to cook it. Comes up tender and juicy every time. I use to just cook it all the way in the over but the tenderloin doesn't come out as good. The one thing I did learn here is to let my pan get warm and then add the olive oil. I've always heated both at the same time so I'll try that the next time I cook it which for my family it's a favorite so we usually have it once a week.

This was published 8 years ago, and FDA recommendations for internal cooking temperatures for pork have been updated since then. They now recommend that we can cook our pork to an internal temperature of 145 deg. F, which is a nice medium rare. Bon Appetite!
@jeroldcummings3670
@jeroldcummings3670 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, and thats precisely what is....a RECOMMENDATION. Not everyone wants their meat only cooked to medium rare. The FDA doesn't know everything. Personal preference is JUST THAT....

Hi Susan, I'm having 5 people over for dinner here pretty soon & my sister wants pork roast. I want the juiciest & most tender roast I can get! What would you suggest? The pork tenderloin? I'd like to buy say 6 of them, in case anyone wants 2nd's.. If I'm cooking them all together in a lrg. pan, how long should I cook them for? Or if not the pork tenderloin, what would you recommend? Do you have a video on how to make pork gravy? Help! lol

How to circumcise a horse cock. J/K.. I'm goin to slam mine in a screaming hot cast iron for char and finish in the oven until 135-140 and let it carry to maybe 145. The only difference with heating a pan and adding oil is I either oil the meat and let the pan get hot or I add oil to the pan until I see whisps of smoke starting. I also like the Alton B method where as she had it 9-3 in the pan to turn it to 12-6 once your turn it (if you're looking at a clock) since those parts are hotter and keep alternating so as to not have cold spots. For those that cook large hunks of meat I'd highly suggest a meat probe thermometer !! Takes the time and guess work out of the process.
