Guys, don't fret if you don't have distilled water, just take tap water, boil it and let it cool
@Kisakichan2 ай бұрын
Not really. Boiling tap water just kills bacteria and germs but you still have minerals and salts in it. You get distilled water by collecting the STEAM from boiling tap water and cool it down.

I made a mermaid themed bottle a few months back with clear water beads in a blue water and glycerine mix with mica. After a few days the beads started to shrink then a few weeks later the whole thing exploded! Glass, blue liquid and beads everywhere! Thankfully no one was in the room. I don't understand what happened. I've seen a few people using water beads and no one has mentioned having this happen, any idea what I did wrong please?
@CookingandCraftChick3 ай бұрын
@@lizziflaherty4317 that’s really odd, I’ve never heard of that happening. Were your water beads fully enlarged the first time? The only thing I can figure is that they kept expanding and was too many and too much for the bottle. I’m not sure though, all I know is I tested mine in full sun on 100 degree days where max expansion should have happened and the potion was just fine. 😕
@lizziflaherty43173 ай бұрын
@@CookingandCraftChick I pre-expanded them in plain water, whether that made a difference and then only had about a quarter to a third of the bottle full of them so they could move around. I had wondered about heat as it was in a room that gets really hot but if you haven't had that issue then I don't understand it at all. The bottle was one with a swing top and clasp rather than a cork, I can't really see that affecting it. Maybe it was a weird, dangerous fluke
@CookingandCraftChick3 ай бұрын
@@lizziflaherty4317 It’s possible your bottle got too hot and it just over expanded. Idk. Thats super weird though. It sounds like the water beads probably had nothing to do with it, my guess is the bottle would have done that with just liquid, and the heat. Which is still super weird. I’m sorry that happened to you, I’ve never had that happen ☹️
