I told myself that I could only eat porgies fried hard but you'd showed the light to a healthier path, thanks man!! Also big ups to catching porgies, blackfish , and winter flounder on lures no one else would even think to use!! Way to fish outside the box!!👍💯👌

Can you substitute the scotch bonnet peppers with something less spicy?
@CookingandFishing6 жыл бұрын
Definitely, you can omit altogether and use red bell pepper. You can also remove all the seeds and membrane from any hot pepper, which is where the heat is.
@snakemonkey5556 жыл бұрын
Cooking and Fishing Thanks! Few members of the family cannot tolerant spicy foods.

What is your opinion on that rod? Looking into getting one
@CookingandFishing6 жыл бұрын
It's a pretty unique rod, with a couple of oddities. I did an initial review here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6CXnJ-kYr5-otk Now that I've used it longer, I'll only add that it's slightly more sensitive than I initially thought, and the handle isn't the most comfortable after dozens of large porgies lol. What are you looking to do with the rod?
@woodsteeth6 жыл бұрын
hi - question for you! what length cord do you usually have running out to your stringer? when you change locations / have long pedals, do you pull the stringer up before you get underway? thanks!
@CookingandFishing6 жыл бұрын
Cord length, approx 4 ft? Long enough that it's dangling couple ft under the kayak. I don't leave anything on the stringer longer than it takes to bleed out a fish...esp in this heat. Once bled out fish goes in the cooler behind me.
@woodsteeth6 жыл бұрын
ahhh, good to know!
@CookingandFishing6 жыл бұрын
Actually, I did play around with the length. Too short is no bueno, you want enough cord so that when you're pedaling short distances the fish won't ride up and hit your side pontoons. I'm always paranoid that a half dead porgy will spine through the pontoon in a final act of revenge lol

Were you still experiencing any line slap on the blank with the 2000 lt? What is your opinion that exact set up for fall and winter multi species freshwater fishing (bass, pickerel, trout, crappie, white/ yellow perch? Great narration btw.
@CookingandFishing6 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, yes. Less noticeable, but on slack line retrieves the line will whip around the blank every now and then. I would say that this is a dedicated dropshot rod in freshwater, it will handle all panfish species but it's lure weight is overrated imo and it's happiest staying at 1/4oz or lower. Very fun rod to fish, very far from versatile. You should look into the Daiwa Cronos 7'6M/ML. That...is about as close to a do it all spinning rod in freshwater I've used: goo.gl/svg1FR
