don't cut the bread dumpling! Ripping it in half is much better, because the sauce can be better absorbed. Cutting it makes it "spindig" (to dense)

Everyone should visit Bavaria at list one time in his/her life. The well preserved old cities and towns, fresh villages, the baroque churches, the nature, the ever green forests, the culture, the Bavarian accent, and of course the food. Everywhere is almost spotless, you feel calm, assured, safe, emotionally and physically well nourished.

Maybe you can help me. My Mom made Sour Sweet Greenbeans, maybe my favorite meal. Our ancestors were Bavarian and it was supposed to come from them, but I have never heard of anyone eating this recipe but us. It is 5lbs green beans, 2lbs pork (she used rib tips, I use less fatty pieces), 4 lg Potatoes (peeled and quartered), 1 small White Onion (diced, but optional), 2cups Apple Cider Vinegar, 2 cups Sugar, Salt to taste. In large pot on the stove, add green beans, onion, potato and pork. Cover with water and boil until veggies are tender. Add Vinegar and Sugar and simmer for at least 1 hour. Once the flavors marry, this tastes better and better. I often add additional cooked green beans to the 'sauce' over the next week, to extend eating this dish. Microwaves great!
