Got to finish up the last batch of filling tonight from X-Mas. We use 1/2 figs, and 1/2 candied fruit with citron, orange peel ect. or the fruit-cake mix in the tub at the store with a combo of everything. Also we add dates to the mix too. Combo of Grand Marnier, and Frangelico liqueurs, and we only use toasted Hazelnuts. Chocolate syrup, and semisweet chocolate chips in the filling too. Years ago, we would take turns grinding it thru an old hand-crank meat grinder with the large-die on the front, which would constantly jam-up. The food processor makes it so easy!

Hi beauties! I’m here Enjoying Nona di Fresca and you making these cucidati ! It’s a big job, but so worth it. My aunt and I cheat, we use the cuisinart processor. We use the figs and raisins, add in an orange with the zest and all, an apple 🍎. The juice from the orange 🍊 adds the juice but this year I’m going to soak overnight in rum. That is a wonderful idea! Thank you 🙏 for all your videos they are awesome. Great recipes. Gratzie Mille 🥰😍💕💕💕💕💕🙌🏼

Loved this. Something I regret often is that I didn't ask my nonna for her recipes --- and how I wish I'd been there at least once to see her make toralli. I learned my lesson and had my mom teach me to make strufolli!

I don't have dried figs. Is there a way to use fresh figs?
@cookingwithnonna8 жыл бұрын
You can't really use fresh figs for this as they would be too juicy. But you can substitute with other dried fruits like dates and prunes
@Atochabsh8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but I have a whole tree full of figs. :-)

@marijoheitman25776 жыл бұрын
Atochabsh I used fresh figs but added other dried fruits like rasins and apricots. You can also add a bit of almond flour to the fruit.
