INGREDIENTS
-2 cups of all purpose flour
-1/2 cup of tap water or more if needed
-1/4 tsp. of salt
-1/2 cup of vegetable oil (Wesson oil for frying)
-1 cup or more of tomato sauce, that has been made ahead of time ( you may look at my Marinara sauce video)
-1/2 of cup of grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
DIRECTIONS
-mix the salt into the flour.
-make a well with the flour
-add the water a bit at the time into the flour until the dough reaches a semi-soft smooth consistency
-after the dough is well mixed, let it rest for 10-15 minutes
-while the dough is resting, heat a pan with the oil for frying
-in another small pot, heat up the tomato sauce over low medium heat
-cut a small piece of dough
and make a circular-like shape (see video). Stretch the dough with your hands - do not use a rolling pin to flatten!
-when the oil is hot, add the stretched dough and wait for it to turn golden and to sound crispy when using a fork to tap it.
Then remove the fried dough from the pan and place it on a dish. Add the hot tomato sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese. Serve immediately and bite into a delicious crispy outside and soft inside and enjoy.

This is how I was raised to have it. And the only way I'll make it. Thank you for sharing something that has always been a fond memory of my family with others who just had no idea you could make it this way. So good!

Finally someone who does it right..with NO sugar. These ppl and their sugar make me crazy. Thanks for doing it right.

My mother makes that, but it's called lángos in Hungarian... she sprinkles them with garlic salt only 🤤

I was exposed to this at school fairs in Connecticut back in the sixties. In the west we have Indian Fry Bread. This is a great alternative where baking may be difficult as prices for store-bought bread continue to rise. I'm experimenting with different kinds of flour.

This is the first time I’ve seen sauce used on fried dough. We kids would sprinkle the fried dough with either salt or sugar - we usually preferred salt as a toping. I used to love it.

When I was a child, my mother sprinkled sugar on the dough. I now use the tomato sauce, and we all love the little pizzas.

I did try this when my family came at Thanksgiving and they really liked it. I used chunks of fresh mozzarella and parmesan over the sauce. I did make smaller pieces and they were all gone in just moments. Really fun to do so I will certainly do it again.

You made them too small. Ni sauce just butter.

Oh boy this looks good, my favorite part of pizza is the crust - thin and crispy. I had no idea that my favorite way to eat pizza was this easy. I adore fresh sweet basil, so will try it with the cheese..

Hi Doll one of my favorite meals as an adolescent was chicken Cacciatore a friend of the family made. She was Italian. My mom made a very decent copy but it was never the same. (Never told her that, RIP). Any plans for such a fabulous meal? 😛😛
