This Maple burl wood came to us in the shape of an anatomically correct heart! Watch as we mill it up, educating you about the process as we go. Woodworkers will enjoy seeing the process of sawmilling up this beautiful piece and learning how the wood from their woodworking projects starts from a raw burl and transforms into usable material. After that you can purchase pieces of this great burl at www.cookwoods.com

In the 1970's we would sometimes fill giant voids (in Myrtlewood) like that with tide pool scenes - sand covered with sea urchins, sea weed, etc and then cover them with layer upon layer of casting resin. They were silly, but really sold well at places like The House of Myrtlewood in Coos Bay. A case of responding to the market. Of course we didn't have a slabzilla, so they were cut with a 110CC chainsaw and 6' bar wherever we found them. We wasted as much wood as we cut as a result of the technique. Nice video Chris!

That made the small (in comparison) pieces of wood I have purchased from Cook Wood even more valuable. What a great video to share with everyone:>) it makes the circle more complete to see the wood, some of it Hundreds of years old, still be given the common courtesy to be used and presented again as a historical piece of value, Nice work Cook Wood to all who work there! You do some admiral work. Wood Is Good!

Great video! Next time record the voice louder and the music quieter. It's a bit annoying to have to turn the volume up and down over and over again.

I think this is a case of “I’m richer than u on your little Jetski so F off”. Really jetskis shouldn’t be playing in the inlet. Bernese is the only sensible one here
