I wouldn't fix the animation by making it run without screen refresh. All that's doing is making the animation run in a single frame, making it even laggier than if you just kept the animation on. It's better to just get rid of that functionality

You can use a stamp block instead of a clone block to make it faster (Just don't forget to put an erase block after the custom block)
