The 1st time I heard this was when my roommate and I were pawing through the latest batch of demo LPs I had gotten at work. By the time the farting, psyche jazz breakdown hit we were rolling on the floor laughing! Some like to paint the Punk/New Wave/Post Punk time in it's grimmest and most primal terms. There was so much that was good natured fun in music, which balanced the dour. I like to remember it as a proper follow up to everything that had been great about rock in the 60s +70s.

I remember this song from a UK TV advert in the 1990's. Part of the clip had a Scania truck in it but that's all I remember apart from this cracking tune. I think it was from a milkshake advert but this song is just a great gem to enjoy and puts a smile on my face every time I hear it.

I remember it too. It was from the drink more milk campaign that was huge in the 80s. Around the same time, my school used to hand us out pints of milk with straws and digestive biscuits. Happy days!

Bands like The Jam, The Clash, The Specials and Squeeze would write great songs about life. Are there bands out there today (not counting the hip-hop gangster rap stuff) who write this sort of 'slice of life' song? I can think of 'Glasvegas' and 'The Reverend and the Makers.' Anyone got any solid recommendations?

Yes here's one brilliant album about hedonism taken to extremes.. 'It's Great When You're Straight - Yeah' by Black Grape.. Shaun Ryder's lyrics are just brilliantly unhinged - yet intelligent & superbly observational & confessional.. One of 'The' best albums of the 90's - hands down.. Give it a whirl !! Peace Rx

THANKS FOR THE post Cheers!!
