Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I kzbin.infoUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

@Northern , You are correct, he did use a piece of wire loom, but if you look closer, you'll see that there is also a wire loom and tape on the wires that are coming through the hole, which provides enough protection. I would check out the ac compressors for electric cars . Instead of a mechanical compressor you have a 24 or 12 volt electrical compressor . And run your fan and compressor to an isolated power or turn off one battery at night . In the morning turn on the other battery to run . Or the isolated battery configuration with a diode will only charge not draw on your system .

But Tesla compressor is costly
@rrcontracting9028
@rrcontracting9028 5 жыл бұрын
I would use the factory system and put a compressor from a Tesla in it . Boom easy . Run the ac power to one independent semi battery with an isolator switch . When the battery dies in 7 hours you can still start the truck . Charge up for an 45 min then get another few hours if needed . The electric car ac compressor is so compact it can go anywhere and it’s rugged .
@chrisreed26
@chrisreed26 5 жыл бұрын
The A/C compressor from a Prius is similar too I think and much more readily available and less money! I had a Prius that had the electric compressor..heck it was all you would hear if the car was on battery power!

I would prefer to run the line set through the cab rear wall , keeping it inside both units . That would have eliminated that cowling on the inside and the two flex lines out side being exposed. Then you could run the lines directly w/o that extra thru-hull fitting and the four extra connections that requires. That eliminates, 4 more connections it could leak from and the cost of unnecessary fittings & hardware.
