Rick Astley met Miki Matsubara at a music festival in 1985, after which they bonded over their mutual love of music. They formed the duo "cool name" in 1986 with Matsubara composing and producing and Astley on Vocals Their single "Stay with Me Forever" would hit number one on the billboard hot 100. In the early 90's the pair continued to tour and would create music for the 1993 anime "Rick Roller Z".
