i'm glad you addressed the pressure that youtubers are feeling because i've noticed it with a bunch of people. there was someone who got a palette 3 days after it launched and felt like they were "too late" - how sad is that? if we think about it, the majority of the youtube audience cannot afford ALL of these launches, so why is there so much pressure to produce and produce and produce? sometimes i just wanna see makeup looks and creative ideas from other people, ya know?

***Hey Kathleen, those of us who can't buy makeup appreciate a "shop your stash" approach to videos. It's a bummer to constantly be seeing all these beautiful products that you can never get. For me, I appreciate seeing you use the things you love more. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE makeup and seeing what's new. But I'm sure you remember the time when you didn't have the ability to get all this awesome stuff. I was hit by an uninsured driver and have lost everything. I'm disabled now, I can no longer work, had to move in with my parents, even had to give away my dog! I totally agree! On my channel I just have to work with the products I have because I am a stay at home mom and babysit kids at my house and I just make videos because I love makeup, but I can’t afford to buy all of the new releases so I’m constantly trying to come up with ideas for products I own, or I’m giving reviews on drugstore makeup lol. Everyone should not feel like they need all of the new things, because you can create beautiful looks with products that you already own! I’m not saying I don’t like to see new releases, but that’s not what it’s all about.

Honestly I love seeing videos where people are still using old products, it shows they actually like them and use them! Also i think most of us can’t afford to go out and buy all the new makeup that is coming out constantly these days so the chances are a lot of us are still using the same “old” products too! I know I would still love to see Dream St. tutorials and wouldn’t mind at all if it’s old products. When recreating a look i usually try to find similar products anyway rather than getting the exact same ones. I think there are channels out there which purpose is solely reviewing new collections and products, however I think majority of us follows you for your personality and incredible makeup looks and in my opinion using “older” products just gives us more in depth information into how they perform and how to use them and also makes it more relatable 😊💕

What if you did a series like “flash back Friday” where some of your Friday videos just focused on old favorites? I’m sure that there are a lot of people out there like me who can’t buy the “latest and greatest” products as soon as they come out. Plus I’m all about that nostalgic life, so I’m always down for a trip down memory lane!! (Also, Dream St. is one of my all time favorites, so I will always love any time you use it in a look!)

I hope I’m not the only one who feels this way but personally as a viewer I feel overwhelmed when gurus are constantly putting out the hot new makeup. I feel like I can’t keep up with all the new products and what preforms well and doesn’t. I love watching new review videos but at the end of the day i probably won’t purchase most of it 1) bc I cant afford to buy makeup at the rate tht it comes out and is popular than forgotten about and 2) bc I will prob forget about 75% of the reviewed products considering I watch makeup vids almost everyday and just see so many products being talked about. So for me I love videos like this that are just chatting and talking about the products that are tried and true for you!!

Girl! I literally was driving down the road the other day with my daughters (9 & 5) when I stopped at a red light and saw a girl that was a little heavier but speed walking down the street. I rolled down my window and told her "GET IT GIRL". She looked at me and smiled. I then told my girls who were giggling that in order to create a better world they need to be "girls" girls and congratulate other girls and women. Empower them to be better. It does get overwhelming seeing new launches every day because people will full-time jobs that have bills to pay and mouths to feed simply can't afford purchasing new products at the rate they're being thrown at us. Since youtubers receive all this stuff in PR, it's easier for them to say "omg love this! love that! you guys need this!" because I don't think they realize how much all of this stuff costs anymore. It does get frustrating when you finally saved up for a foundation or an eyeshadow palette that your fave youtuber raved about, and then next week they're like "omg this one is even BETTER than the other one!!!! you need THIS one!" so I think as consumers we just have to be smart by taking all this with a grain of salt and decide what actually suits our needs. I don't think the fault is on said youtuber, as you said there's a lot of pressure to keep up with new releases and you guys are just doing your jobs. But I definitely love the idea of using "older" stuff :)

The reality is that most of us can't afford to buy this or that new palette all the time. Seeing new things is fun, but I think a lot of people benefit when youtubers show new ways to use products they (or we) already have.

Samantha Ravandal started a series on her channel where she uses the same palette all month. You should join the band wagon and start a series. Once a week use a palette sitting in your collection to use! That way you get the balance of old and new ☺

An idea is to do something similar as Samantha Ravendahl where she uses the same palette for the entire month and creates different looks with it. You could do something like that. I really enjoy watching those. I think your audience would enjoy it too. I agree we get stuck to much on the new new stuff and forget using what we just got.

Honestly...I am so tired of seeing the new new new....we are not made of money and can’t access all the new makeup with every launch. Yes, I love tutorials and GRWM using older makeup ideas. I can’t afford to continually buy every new release, so I love seeing new reviews on older releases ALSO... if you like murder mysteries and unsolved cases, check out Cayleigh Elise... she has an incredible channel where she discusses cold cases, John and Jane Doe cases, and other things. Amazing quality, production, and she is so incredibly respectful to the subjects of her videos

Hey Kathleen, maybe you can start a series on your channel where once or twice a month you go back to old favorites. I've seen a couple KZbinrs do videos on a full face of nothing new and that concept could be helpful for you to keep using some of the products you love that we also still want to see. Nothing is too old, as long as we can still get the product, then go for it lol. New releases are fun, but most of us can’t waste a ton of money every month on makeup. Let’s be real, without KZbin, most new releases wouldn’t get the attention and sales they get now. I would appreciate a mix of both. ❤️

I am on a no buy since january 1st this year, and will keep going. (hard but best decision ever!) And looking for example at ABH sultry and soft glam and comparing them to all my makeup geek singles and some UD and chocolate bar, and like 6 colour pop palettes I own, there aren't new colours in it that I don't already have. I can recreate them with my current shadows. I haven't hit pan on any shadow I own so it wasn't justified to keep buying the new releases, no matter how much I want them. Keep doing old school, I'm here for some chocolate bar looks, or from your morphe collab for example.

L Hiddles ask yourself “do I really need this?”, “what do I have that’s similar to this that’s already in my collection?” I know it’s hard but if you push through and ask yourself, you’ll be able to put it down and walk away.
