Very rare to see work on these Speed 6 so it’s a privilege

I am no expert at all when it comes to cars, but have always loved TVR's. Thanks for all the videos and updates, really appreciated! Look forward to the future ones :)

Cheers Steve much appreciated. I'm not expert either, hence some mistakes are being made!

I'd replace the clutch regardless, and the flywheel looks like it has high spots from heat so I would suggest it's re faced. Replace all nuts and bolts where possible with stainless steel. Great progress.

Thanks for the feedback. I suppose while it’s all open it makes a lot more sense. I’ll be using stainless or zinc plated, I’ve had people say for suspension plated steel is better as it’s less likely to fracture like stainless.

Don't get carried away with SS bolts, they should not to be used to replace any high-tensile fasteners
@tuscantales Жыл бұрын
@@billgaytes6845 that’s what I’ve been told so my suspension bolts are plated steel instead. There’s plenty of bolts that aren’t load bearing that could be stainless though

Powers will probably recommend you go decat with the exhaust. They did when I phoned them last time about my SP6. Removes the risk of the degrading cats being sucked back into the engine. Just need a friendly garage for MOT time. Plus one for getting the friction plate of the clutch changed. Also I’d recommend taking the flywheel to be measured and possibly reground if required. Cost me ~£100 for my Chimaera. Looking forward to an update on what Powers have to say. It would be nice if you could share a video from their garage if they’d allow it.

Cheers! Yep I’ll ask Dom when I speak to him about the engine and where it’s at. Thanks for the advice on the different parts: there’s a lot to do! Who did your flywheel?

Another great update, I've challenged myself to an engine bay refresh this year on my Tamora. It looks a lot easier to clean things up once everything is out the car! 🤣

Yep, sure is. You might have the moment of despair I had earlier though when you see parts EVERYWHERE and realise you are at the end of only the beginning...

I can only imagine! Im hoping to continue to use the car while i upgrade... Ive also never worked on a car in my life... i just keep telling myself its just big meccano. 😂

I do believe that these engines suffered from overheating on cylinder #6 due to poor oil distribution in the head. P.S. re the colour of the exhaust valves
