First you need to identify if your fans are noram 4-pin RGB or 3-pin ARGB (addressable). If they are normal 4-pin RGB fans, you should still be able to do some of the effects, but the fans will only show one color on each LED. ARGB can have the moving effects of the LEDs, different colors, etc.

@JcRabbit5 жыл бұрын
Don't use an ARGB splitter with it in addition to the one that comes with it, as this thing apparently cannot support more than 3 ARG fans: it looks like it has a maximum ARGB power rating of 1A, even if you connect it to a motherboard ARGB header with a 3A maximum power rating or more (the controller draws power from the SATA power cable regardless and then limits ARGB power output to 1A). Even with only 3 fans, you can run into problems if you set the fans to full on bright white: one of my 3 Cooler Master 140mm ARGB fans would have some LEDs display yellow instead of white due to insufficient power - I was forced to reduce brightness in Aura Sync. The controller is magnetic, so it will 'stick' strongly to any metal panels in the case, which is actually a very good thing. Documentation is crap (seems to be an hallmark of Cooler Master these days, even the manual of my $450 C700M case is total crap - they want to use pictures only to save on translation costs and only end up confusing everybody). Other than this, the controller is nice: it gives you some multiple cool effects, but unfortunately always seem to cycle between all colors (i.e.; you can't get an effect to always use the same static color). If you connect it to the motherboard ARGB header, at the press of a button the fans can be controlled by Aura Sync instead. And since I'm bitching, who the hell at Cooler Master thought it was a good idea to make *case* fans with ONLY *30 cm* cables?!!!! On tower cases (like my Cooler Master C700M) they're too short and won't even reach the motherboard headers (or even the case's built-in controller), forcing you to buy extensions for every single CM fan you buy! Come on, Cooler Master, *at least* 50 cm!!!! Stop trying to save pennies at our expense, not cool!
@JcRabbit5 жыл бұрын
@xastunts I was wrong about max Amps, apparently it's 2A and not 1A, so according to someone at CM it can support up to 6 fans at full bright white light if you add an extra splitter. Cooler Master's Masterplus software is supposed to work with this small controller in the future but it currently doesn't, at least not "officially" (if you have the USB 2.0 cable connected - which you must get separately - the controller is recognized by the software but nothing happens when you apply the effects via the software). There is a firmware update floating around that apparently 'fixes' this (search the CM section in Reddit for a link) but I haven't tried it yet. You won't find this firmware update on the Downloads page for this controller at the CM web site.
@JcRabbit5 жыл бұрын
@xastunts I was told CM is going to start including the cable soon, or has started doing so already in new units. This is a bit of a temporary mess from what I understood, as all these things seem to be currently in beta, including Masterplus itself (the software).
@JcRabbit5 жыл бұрын
@xastunts What doesn't seem to be legit? If you want some sort of Customer Service, post on the CM section in Reddit. There are at least two *very active* CM reps there doing a really great job. Anyway, I have the Masterplus software and although I wouldn't exactly call it 'intuitive' (lol) and only works with CM stuff, in terms of actual functionality it leaves things like Asus Aura Sync in the dust. With it I can control individual LEDs in a fan (where the 'Addressable' part in ARGB comes from) now go try that with Aura lol If anything, Asus ROG *software* is the joke (their hardware, on the other hand, is great). Aura, despite being around for years, doesn't even allow you to specify different effects for different RGB zones (much less address individual LEDs) and the associated lighting service nearly maxes out a CPU core just to change LED colors. The monitor applet in Asus ROG GPU Tweak II for some strange reason hooks a DLL to all 32 bit processes and instantly crashes nearly all of them AT ONCE whenever it feels like it. Asus are completely irresponsive to user posts and suggestions in their own forums (and try simply creating an account there now that they changed their website, you will be banging your head onto concrete in no time at all lol) TL;DR: None of these companies are perfect.

Impossible. The signal pattern is never same nor the voltage.even if you can connect with adapter or splitter, it wont work. 3 pin rgb uses digital signal from mobo , but 4 pin header cannot send that digital signal, simply it increase or reduces the voltages to show different colors. But if you use a controller like in this video, theres no need of mobo anymore.. but if ur mobo has 3 pin header, then u can use this controller just for splitter function.

I picked one of these up as I was curious and I have to say after buying and testing several ARGB controllers from the likes of Fractal Design, Bitspower, Darkside, Corsair, watercool... The CoolerMaster mini ARGB controller is the worst by a very large margin. from the unit its self that comes with 'most' cables except for the USB (which is useless anyway) to the very limited number of lighting modes are the least of any (hardly hundreds according to the marketing bullshit) that I have tried and again very limited in the so called effects them selves and oddly there is NO static mode. And if all that is not nearly bad enough, the instructions are extremely vague in the connections and step one says to go to coolermaster.com to download the software for it but the big problem with that is there is NO SOFTWARE for it. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! BUY ANY OTHER CONTROLLER! This one is very misleading and complete crap!
@ph0t0dave5 жыл бұрын
@xastunts I'm glad to help in anyway that I can. First off sorry for the long post lol but I wanted to cover your question in detail as well as throwing in a bit more information. The short answer in NO you can NOT plug RGB into ARGB or ARGB into RGB headers/connectors. Only ARGB to ARGB and RGB to RGB. If your motherboard only has 4pin RGB then you would need a 3rd party controller to use ARGB products. You and anyone else reading this, have to understand that you can NOT mix 4-PIN (Standard 12v RGB) and 3-PIN (ARGB 5v or sometimes referred to Addressable RGB 'ARGB' or Digital RGB 'D-RGB'). This is due to regular 4-PIN RGB runs on 12volts of power, where as 3-Pin ARGB runs on 5volts of power so approximately 60% LESS power than 4-PIN. Plugging in a 5v 3-PIN to a 12v 4-PIN will overload the 3-PIN and burn out your LED's to a point they will never work again. So in your case if your motherboard (would help to know what brand/model) only has a 4-PIN RGB header on it and you want to run ARGB fans, light strips, ect... then you would have to use a third party ARGB controller. I had a quick look at a random manual for a TT C32 case as you never mentioned which one so I just randomly picked one as they all look pretty similar except for the external panels, and you are best off just running any TT (Thermaltake) fans or any other TT ARGB accessories with the included TT ARGB controller. Although the quality of the TT fans I received with my TT Level 20 GT Case (Riing Plus 140mm and 200mm) have been good performers for the most part, I'm personally not a fan (no pun intended). The ones that came with my Level 20GT had great airflow and pressure along with nice and bright LED's, the software to control them was pretty good and worked as intended with a good amount of effects and options, and the LED's on the fans were quite accurate colour wise as well. The things that bother me about the TT fans are, you can not set a fan curve at all (the last time I tested anyway in early January 2019) and the fans them selves are proprietary to the TT ARGB controller so not only the the fan needs the TT controller to run but the LED's do as well. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to mod the cable and connect it to a 4pin PWM header if you are in a pinch but that is very inconvenient. AS I mentioned above in my first post, I have tested quite a few ARGB controllers from a few different manufacturers in the past few months to find ones that I can use for myself and my clients builds looking for adequate colour and effect options. I am/was looking for ease of use, colour options and effect options. I personally use and admittedly a bit of a fan boy of Corsair products as a whole and also their Commander Pro and LL series fans. The Corsair iCUE software, I have found to be well thought out and put together as well as very stable which is a must for my line of work. By day I am a professional technical 3D animator and a professional photographer as well, on top of building and modding PC's for the last 30 years or so lol. I also have a number if NZXT Aer ARGB (1st gen) fans as well that I genuinely like as they seem to have a higher static pressure than the Corsair LL's. But again the NZXT Cam software has issues that I'm not fond of in regards to security (it sends data back to NZXT and you don't have a choice) and stability, but that's for another story lol. With the NZXT and Corsair controllers, if either of them die, which can and has happened in the past. Then I can still use the actual fan and plug it in to a regular fan header on the motherboard or into a separate PWM fan controller/splitter as the fan power and lighting are two separate cables. That makes it more difficult as far as cable management goes but I'm happy to pay that price to have the versatility to still run the fans if the ARGB controller dies. With the new TT case i "THINK" you should be able to control the lighting via TT software but I cant find any clear info on that and it may be just a mini controller which is NOT software controlled unlike the controller included with my TT Level 20 GT. If you want other accessories to run off of it though then you would have to buy only accessories included in the Thermaltake Eco system. Like, light strips, extra fans, ARGB waterblocks, ARGB memory modules... Surprisingly I recently found out that I can control the lighting on my Corsair fans and light strips and my NZXT fans and light strips with my Aqua Computer Quadro connected to a Splitty4. NOT both brands at the same time but say all corsair on one Splitty4 and all NZXT on another Splitty4. The Aquacomputer Software has a bit of a learning curve but its been running great and stable for me for the last month with LOTS of options for colour, effects and additional sensor information like temps, water flow, fan and pump speeds and you can set fan curves based on any sensor that the Aquacomputer software has access to. And lastly has the best light effect that copies whats on your screen that I have seen yet. And finally for separate ARGB controllers, my favorites at the moment are the Bitspower ARGB controller that you can plug 8 ARGB devices in to it which is handy as you don't have to worry about splitters. Fractal Design has a new great ARGB controller that I really like and has a couple extra colours that should be standard but are rare in other controllers like orange and pink along with XSPC. The Fractal Design, XSPC and Bitspower controllers are fairly cheep along with the Aquacomputer Quadro/splitty4 coming in behind that and then NZXT and Corsair at the top. For the most part you get what you pay for so my general advice is usually buy the best that you can afford, but sometimes there are exceptions.

Hello. I would like to get some answers. Been wondering if the corisar controller youre talking about is the commander pro. I have a triple pack of ll120 fans, It came with a ligthing node pro, can i use it as a controller with argb accesories like the masterair ma410m and control the lights on cue?

So first off not universal, great another locked in platform. Second proprietary headers come on Cooler Master Third I am guessing I have to place this behind one of the enclosed case panels, which means I can't access it at need. Forth if your going to make this kind of system make it at least include a remote control.

I found out it was not universal too...there was no clear indication or notes stating it only worked with their ecosystem.

Purposes of micro usb ???
@TheOldMan769 ай бұрын
Bit late responding but just saw this comment. The purpose of the micro USB socket is to connect to the device to perform firmware updates and to be able to talk to the device via the Master Plus software.

Cooler Master, you guys suck for not including a Micro USB cable with the MA410m. I worked my ass off getting this cooler into my MINI ITX build just to find out that it isn't going to light up

Bought this 2 months ago and i can honestly say this is the worst controller and fans setup i've ever seen, don't waste your money. -fans are loud -there's no static color - 3 pin connector wich can't go on most motherboards (4 pin) Trash controller Awful product.
