This is my favorite image from the July 2015 International Space Station (ISS) Slow Scan TV (SSTV) event, at least of the images I received.
I love how each cosmonaut and astronaut is smiling and holding their nation's respective flag, and that they are doing it together.
This Slow Scan TV event celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Apollo and Soyuz docking together, and I think this image symbolizes that the best.

I have an SSTV decoder on my computer called mmsstv (which decodes Robot36, Robot 72, AVT 90, Scottie 1, Scottie 2, ScottieDX, Martin 1, Martin 2, and PD180) and I let it listen to this video. the images on my screen looked pretty much the same as yours but every time you talked it caused artifacts to appear in the image lol

You're not the first person to mention this. I made a webpage with links to the audio recordings so you can test decodes without my voice :-) spacecomms.wordpress.com/iss-sstv-audio-recordings/ 73, John Brier KG4AKV

The first time I saw someone doing this was many years ago. We saw him in a park near the street we were driving on. We turned around and stopped to se what he was doing. We were in a small town with nothing to do. My buddy said as a joke this guy was a Russian spy getting instructions from space. We get out and walk up and he said hello with a Russian accent. Oh shit! Then he starts laughing and points to his laptop. He told us about capturing images from ham radio and he came to the park to get away from the interference from his apartment complex. He said everybody thinks I’m a spy sending and receiving messages when I do this. Noooo I said. Really?

That's awesome! Yes, myself and many other amateur radio satellite operators have fielded questions from curious passersby like yourself. People ask me if I'm tracking wildlife sometimes. Once when I was at the beach someone even asked me if I was tracking a Great White shark that had been seen recently. haha

Hey John, not sure if you read this comment but I ask myself why does the space station sent those pictures to earth? Is there any purpose behind it? Keep up the great work ;)

Sorry I just saw this. The pictures are basically for fun and experimentation. Kind of like the whole amateur radio hobby. On the ground amateur radio also provides emergency comms. Theoretically they could use ham radio as a backup in an emergency too. They use the amateur radios on ISS primarily to talk to schools though. Look up ARISS. 73! John Brier KG4AKV

does the yagi antenna reject a lot of noise? that signal was crisp!
@SpaceComms

Mostly it is because the ISS SSTV transmissions are the most powerful ham radio satellite transmissions. Probably 10 or 50 watts. Yagis do have a front to back ratio which I believe describes their rejection of signals.

Damn! Keep stopping to try and decode. At least I know that robot 36 decoder app works great!! I also got the sstv encoder that also works. I have encoded and decoded my profile picture in every single mode these things do. Scottie dx is the only one that doesn't shadow around my speakers.. Now I know that this will work for my purpose too. Windows computers aren't the ONLY game in town. Apple also has sstv apps for their devices. Don't get the $7 app. Reviews say it won't decode pd180.
