I added the cb rhino mounts on my stock transmission mount , which had to be just trimmed slightly to fit the kafer bracket on the ends of the frame horns. I did not have to disassemble the spring plates at all just the trans mount which went back on fine without having to move the transmission ahead at all. the two front brackets that attach at the frame horn install with the small end bolted down and the longer pointed end into the clevis pin . being that they neglect to provide any instructions with the kit , it can be said there is no wrong or right way to do it but after trying all possible configurations I found this fit the best and installed with no cutting or drilling of the supplied parts and went together without stressing the other components , hope this helps someone else that buys the kit .

@@EmmettRacing so tell us did it feel stiffer was it a little noisier inside the car? Do you honestly feel that the product is worth the money?
@EmmettRacing2 жыл бұрын
@@chuckingram5966 it’s way stiffer and as helped eliminate wheel hop when I launch the bug under boost. I haven’t noticed any difference in noise but if you’re going to drive your VW hard like I do, it’s definitely worth the money.

Did those ears you put between the frame horns and trans mount move the trans and motor back a 1/4” or was there a spacer or washer in there stock or some play in mounts that allow everything to line up?
@EmmettRacing3 жыл бұрын
Everything still lines up with that spacing. Those ears did put the engine and transmission back about a 1/4”. Stock did not have any spacing between there. It does not have any issues with that much because you can readjust your shifter, and the shift rod allows play to move it back a little. One thing I recommend that I didn’t do is putting washers or a spacer for 1/4” on the front transmission mount where it mounts on the nose cone.

@EmmettRacing zip I made the holes a 1/4 inch bigger and moved the transmission mounts a 1/4 inch. Either way is fine though.

G'day, Everything looks great. I've got a Kafer stiffy kit to fit to my 63 beetle, after seeing your video I know where I'm going with it now. Q. I notice that your transmission is solid mounted. What's the reasoning behind this. Anyhoo thankyou for sharing your install. ✌️ From Melbourne Australia.
@EmmettRacing2 жыл бұрын
The reason behind the solid mounts is under hard launches it transfers the most amount of power down without flexing like a rubber mount would.

How much space do you have between the top tube and the starter? I have a starter adapter for a tdi on mine and want this but they might rub
@EmmettRacing Жыл бұрын
it’s about an inch and a half or 2 inches between the starter and bar that goes over the bell housing.

Sorry for asking dumb questions, its my first time seeing your channel. how did you break the transmission? was it the gears inside or the housing? you must have a very powerful engine or you have been doing some jumps in your buggy. or both jaaaa
@EmmettRacingАй бұрын
No question is stupid. I like answering everyone’s questions. The transmission broke because I kept doing boosted launches and some burnouts. It was the original transmission to the car from 1965. The gears inside all broke but the case/housing stayed intact. I don’t jump it, it’s just a street car with a turbo 1600.
