I think...it is like malaria test thick and thin blood film... thick to detect positive or not = direct coomb On the other hand thin blood film to identify what kind a organism = indirect coomb..

I have question with respect with crossmatching 1.do we wash serum ? 2.why using serum has an advantage instead of using PLASMA. 3. incase of Prozone, do you think the best remedy is to wash the Serum thank you for clearing my mind- I need clarification because I've been out of school for 8 years and i'll take exam few months from now - rica

well , i thought that in ( indirect combs test we are looking for other AB that causes hemolytic anemia not ABO AB ) because we do the test to these patient that are ABO compatible but still have hemolytic anemia

Yes you can, because the patient has "Anti A" antibodies , so you don't give him a blood type which the RBCs have that "Antigen" on their surface..meaning you don't give A blood and AB blood...O blood, the RBCs have no proteins on their surface, so you're clear to proceed.

@@dok9415 can I give B blood? i would think not because at the beginning of the video, the patient also had antibodies to B antigens. Do I assume because the B antibodies were in lower quantity that hemolysis will not occur?

@@deannaj4904 donor's antibodies do not affect recipient antigen present on donor's blood surface is cause of destruction of cells bcz this antigen is attacked by recipient antibodies we can give
