I’m a Eagles fan thx for the breakdown on Coop he’s a first rd talent that fell to the second he’s equivalent to what McCaffery is to RB position because of his color very rare to have a white Corner play like he’s black but better then a lot of DB’s despite color just how McCaffery is to RB’s even though he’s white he the best back in the league if you understand what I’m Tryna say Coop beating the odds and for myself I’m black it’s so refreshing to see because you don’t really see that especially for a DB maybe Safety basically I knew he beat the odds once I saw how athletic he was how fast he ran the 40 which is a 4’3 I saw the potential that’s why I wanted him and Q but somehow we wind up with Both!! To my surprise I’m so happy he’s a Eagle he changed our defense completely
@chrisduncan16474 күн бұрын
Proving that the color of a persons skin doesn't define their talent. African men are typically better athletes, but that don't mean there aren't white dudes that can't ball the fuck out. Love to see it. And I understand what you mean, as a white dude who didnt have a white friend until 8th grade, my heroes were all black athletes. Especially Randall because the general thought at the time was that Black man couldnt handle being a quarterback. Look at the league now.
@Bentley7Cruize4 күн бұрын
Yeah same bro. I heard about Cooper the next great white hope and I thought they were gassing it lol. When I looked at his tape, I wanted him to be an eagle so bad. I knew of Mitchell, knew he was probably better, but the idea of having the only white lockdown cb in NFL history was just toogood of a story to pass on. I'm black but I love to see people beat the odds and break ground in any way. Its always good to see people prove that something is possible when the odds are against you. I can't wait for the first really big Asian football superstar, but Cooper is kind of like that. No one thought there would be a 7 foot Chinese guy that could actually dominate games in the NBA. It didn't exist, until he did. No one thought a white guy could be fast enough to cover the best recievers out there. And they definitely didn't think a white guy could stop Jamar chase 1 on 1 on 4th and 1. But he's a state champion in the 100m and long jump. IDC if it was in Iowa, theres fast brothers everywhere, it wasn't just farmers he was racing. A state champion is a state champion. He ran times in highschool that would beat Olympians from some countries... Not ours cuz we have the best track program in the world in terms of skill and depth combined. He ran a 10.66 in the 100 which is insane. That's good enough to compete in almost any state championship final. I'm black and my best was 11.5 lol but I was a soccer player/ 400m runner. Not a sprinter.... But I always was the fastest sprinter in my teams. I would hate to race that white boy lol. I didn't think Howie would take a cb first round so I thought Mitchell would be gone anyway. So When they drafted Mitchell I was like, "nice, best player possible, and a deal, who cares about a nice story".... Then we drafted Cooper and I lost it, in my mind we had lockdown corner duo for the future, to learn and build chemistry together..... I never thought in my wildest dreams that they would be THIS GOOD! AND PLAY SO MUCH! they have taken out defense to a leveli never thought possible. We've always been strong up front, weak as hell in the middle with cheap linebackers, and decent in the back. With solid CBS and safetys. This years defense is much weaker up front, but still top 5, but our middle and back are so much better. Ifeel like maybe we're evenly skilled across the board, and it's just the fact that we have been subpar in those areas that makes me feel like those have passed our line. There are some games when the line wrecks the game, but it's only a few. The middle and back has been dominant, and made big plays every game, even when we lost lol. But i don't want to say they're definitely better because it's hard to believe. Our line has always been our defense, so I'm thinking that an evenly skilled defense just makes it seem like the line is worse... But who cares about my drunken ramblings and curious pondering about the eagles at 3:11 am? lol😂😂😂

He has the game IQ, strength and speed to play very physical at the line of attack effectively, which is something the Eagles have been missing out of their DBs outside of CJ. He can play very well in coverage but he's also stout enough to take on blockers and make physical tackles in the box. He's an outstanding defensive player. I didn't really watch him play at Iowa so after watching the him with the Eagles this year, I can now see why he was so highly touted coming out of college. He's literally a swiss army knife considering how good he is at returning too. As far as I can tell he could play corner, safety, linebacker and a couple offensive positions at a high level. He's an all around great athlete.
@JakeSchyvinckNFL4 күн бұрын
He played outside corner a lot for the Hawkeyes, but because of some struggles in transition when he was in trail technique, his fit in the slot made so much sense! Plays physical, good against the run, speed to blitz and fly around the LOS, high football IQ. Just about a perfect fit for Fangio's defense!
@adiosmiamigo3 күн бұрын
@ agreed! I’m very happy about how the Eagles have been drafting and the production of their picks over the past several draft classes. Looking forward they’ll need to secure a solid right tackle and ideally a couple of strong edge players to replace Lane Johnson and Brandon Graham. In the meantime, let’s see what this team can do as we get into the back end of the season and ideally the playoffs. GO BIRDS!

DeJean is very conscious of the fact that he's got 10 other guys on the field helping him out. He's not concerned about getting another tally on his stats, he just wants to make sure he's involved in every play. My dad played DT and OG in school and tried to coach me when I played DB in youth league. The one point he always hammered home is even if I couldn't make the play myself, anything I could do to slow it down would buy time for my teammates to get there. Plug holes, force cut-backs, jam receivers, watch the hips and never over-commit. Even though I wasn't a very athletic kid and my only asset was speed, I was still able to contribute to the team following that key concept. DeJean has that mindset branded into his brain.

Yeah it's awesome to watch! His work to turn run plays back inside is such good discipline and doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

Hey Jake, how do you compare DeJean's production versus Bullard's ?
@JakeSchyvinckNFL4 күн бұрын
Pretty mixed in terms of advanced stats. PFF has his best graded games at safety and when moving around to play box/saf/nickel. Per next gen stats, Bullard is allowing a 158.3 rating in coverage at FS and just a 75.9 passer rating allowed from the slot.

@@JakeSchyvinckNFL not surprised that DeJean is excelling at his role. I said from the beginning I was not sold on him in a man system at the NFL level. I could see him excelling as a cover 2 corner, or a two shell safety at the NFL level. Even though he is playing in the box in the Eagles system he’s kind of playing the hybrid linebacker role.
