Every single one of these episodes is full of quality. It's funny because as a long time follower I used to misunderstand a lot of technical points in different episodes but as my skiing has gotten better and better every single one of your episodes and their technical and mental details make more and more sense and feel much more organic in a way. I will literally sometimes finish a ski day and watch one of your videos that talks about the exact things I was thinking about during my runs hha. Thanks for the upload and if it would be possible to upload some two minute clips of high level skiing whether it be in freeskiing or full on competition it would be greatly appreciated.

Good hitting of knowledge from inside leg action to ‘taint action - cool video. The concept of the A-frame ‘blocking’ the outside leg edge angle was good for me to hear, helps to understand why A-framing is undesirable mechanically and not just not pretty

cooper, love love love how you speak with a gentle confidence that comes from direct personal experience and experimentation. my yoga teacher invites us to be both the scientist and the lab rat, and you are an exemplary living example of this principle.

"A-Frame" is a bad habit of mine... didn't equate it blocking the inside leg but totally makes sense now! Love the power from hips (I'm a golfer), I'm sure I drive the outside leg more than my hip.

I started racing late as a senior in high school and at first I was skiing with just my lower body and trying to keep my whole upper body stable, following old school techniques. It wasn’t until I realized that if I drove my hips forward in the turn that my skiing really opened up and suddenly I was using my torso and legs to create a fulcrum point farther from the ski and it started creating much greater edge angles. Before I learned that, I was waist breaking and my rear end was in the back seat and I had to use a lot on knee angulation to compensate. By getting my hips forward in the turn (“humping” the turn 😁) and making the turn from my chest down and giving my body more extension from the chest, it allowed me to straighten out my knees and I no longer had to over compensate with the knees. I was able to get so much more power out of the turns and get much greater edge angles. And if the technique is balanced, the skeletal structure takes up most of the forces and less strength is needed. Using the hips in skiing is extremely important and is one of the keys to good skiing.

I'm 40 and Learn so much frol you Deb ! cheers from France. Is there any problem to ski with banded poles for recreative skier (but carving level) ? I got those as a gift and I'm not a racer: D

Andre - Curved , 'bended' poles are for the aerodynamic tuck in SuperG and Downhill events. Probably not much harm for a recreational skier, but a specialized "tool". More important might be pole LENGTH.
