Absolutely a nice bridge to ride on seeing a nice view of downtown Charleston

I just visited Charleston recently and I had to make sure my hotel was not across the river of that bridge. It looks like a monster.

I always go across the two smaller bridges instead for sure.

The only thing I miss about the Grace and Pearman bridges is the anticipation. The old bridges crossed well underneath the new one, and it was a pretty cool experience making my way between Charleston and Mt. Pleasant during those few years. Using the new bridge since 2005 has been like The Flintstones Meet The Jetsons. Yeah, it's light years better than the old spans, and is so much more aesthetically pleasing. If you're going to walk the bridge, get as close as you can to being directly under the apex of one of the diamonds and take a photo aimed straight up. Trust me, you'll be glad you did, because it's such a spectacular shot.

I want to come back down and cross this bridge. It's beautiful. I haven't crossed the Cooper River since 1992, when the old bridges were still up.

Going northbound you can really appreciate the gradual grade. Southbound the grade is a tad bit steeper, but this bridge in general is light years more easier to drive than the old bridges, especially the Grace Memorial. Between the super narrow lanes, no shoulders, steep grade, and the tight turn at the dip in the middle, that bridge had me white knuckling it each time I drove down to Charleston.

When I was 9 years old back in 1996, me and my family went across the two old bridges when we were moving from Beaufort, SC to Jacksonville, NC. Man, I wonder it's like to cross the Ravenel. For sure, I like monsterous in size it looks compared to the other two.

Hey, would you mind if I nab a bit of this footage for one of my projects? I wanted footage of the bridge and this video looks perfect for it. Thank you either way
