@@seckstein1000 i forgot how to make them. i'm a young adult novel author and had the silly idea to have some of the kids playing with a cootie catcher in class - like you do! ;) i had to come to the youtubes! we always made ours out of a sheet of notebook paper. kids these days with their printer paper! The main part I’m struggling with is putting my fingers in there but overall this is great!
@seckstein10003 жыл бұрын
That's probably the hardest part of it! It takes a little practice, but once you get a feel for it it's not bad. If that's the spot you are having a bit of trouble with then you are doing just fine. Congrats! I try to start all four fingers under those square flaps slowly, and I check the front side as I go for any corners that might be catching. That seems to help me to do it. You'll find a good technique of your own too ^_^

It’s impossible I did all the steps I don’t understand 😡😡😡
@saraheckstein55913 жыл бұрын
Here's a summary that might help: - Create a square piece of paper (if you don't have one) - Fold all 4 corners in to touch the center (gaps where it isn't perfect is better than overlapping paper) - Flip the whole thing over to the back - Fold all 4 corners to the center on this side - There will be two sides: the one you see should show triangles, and the one against the table that should show 4 squares - your fingers will fit into these squares It takes a little trial and error to get the paper to bend in the right spots when putting your fingers in the first time, but go slow and keep trying. Learning is all about trial and error, even when you get it wrong you learn something every time to help you get to the right end!

When I was growing up (and in the area we live) that was the name we used for them. I think that was mostly because it was to choose who you were going to marry in the future lol. Some people also call them fortune tellers, so the name changes depending on who and where you are 😊

I'm not quite sure what you're frustrated with, but if there's something I can do to help I'd be happy to if I can. Not all learners learn at the same rate, and this tutorial was made in mind for people who may not have seen these before or need a slower how-to to follow along with. If you have a question or concern I'd be happy to discuss it with you

Waaay to much talking. Could have just done the steps necessary.
@seckstein10003 жыл бұрын
sure could have, and don't worry, there are other tutorials out there that can be a little quicker. Everyone learns at different speeds, and some learners need a video they can work with in real time rather than rush to pause as they work. Mine is certainly not claimed to be the best or brightest - just another way to learn. If you find another helpful one, let us know and I'll link to it to help other learners, too :-)
