I think Messi and Scaloni will continue to the 2026 World Cup. This team (as an unit) is much better than the previous Argentina dynasties. 1978 team was pretty much revolved around Kempes, Luque and sensational goalkeeper at Fillol. They flopped 1982. 1986 and 1990 teams that reached the World Cup final were just Maradona and 10 others. This (to an outsider) looks much more like a "family team". They pretty much played 100% the same squad that they had in 2022 Qatar yesterday. After 2026 World Cup they'll both retire from the nat.team. That's my prediction.

Watching Canada, it's like... Hey, these guys are pretty good! Then they face an actual good team, and then it's like... Well, maybe not that good. But congratulations, Canada 🇨🇦. I can’t believe some actually thought Canada had a punchers chance in this game. With or without Messi who hasn’t been great tbf Argentina were always going to win. They simply have too much quality in depth.

TB more frank, Messi actually had his best game of the tournament. He not only scored and open goal, he also won motm. Since motm is not just based on gls, Messi won it because he had the most successful dribbles, most key chances created, and most passes completed.

You know you're good when you win and crybabies cry rigged. They play who is ahead of them. No one cried when Brazil had Chile and Peru in their knockouts in 21. At home. Argentina went through Mexico, Poland, Netherlands, Croatia and then France to win the WC. And crybabies cried rigged. Cry chica, cry.
