Thank you for this vid copa90 because a had a fall out with my assistant manager at my previous club and haven't started football again since 10 (im 12)and because of this video I will try my hardest to get scouted but first I will find a club. Thanks again. Edit: 18 now and still without a team. Hard to get back into football when you have african parents that prioritise education. In most cases it’s too late, but giving up is lame.

I will disagree by saying that although you have a good point, I'm sure the players that are in the top leagues are all players that are truly talented even with minimum coaching. Although the reason why you might think like that is because when you watch top level football it's already the best of the best that's why some people think that anyone can make it.

This is why the MLS is never going to be a good league, because they draft insgead of having a Youth System in their teams, and then all of the American fans think their one of the best teams in the World when they sighn a former Legend over the age of 30, such as Henry, Beckham, Di Vaio etc, they all think Clint Dempsey is world class, maybe in the MLS but in the BPL he'd just be average, like when he played for Fulham and Tottenham.

Never give up your dream and work hard to it everyday. I had two professional footballers in my family, i was a very good prospect when i was young my main attribute been intelligence and been able to read the game. Unfortunately for me i tore my quad when i was fifteen and have suffered with relapses ever since. Im now 26 and play for a high level amateur club in Germany. Keep your brain sharp, constantly work off the ball, learn to read and to understand the game and practice practice and practice. I gave up football when i was younger for a few years and it was the worst decision i ever made, never give up guys.
@Consigliere18299 жыл бұрын
I'm tired of hearing all these people from the U.S saying they would've had a better chance in another country. That's bullshit. You have a better chance when you work hard for what you want and have dedication and actually put time in if. Some people just practice every other day or only when their team has practice. I live in the states, I live in Dallas. I wake up at 5am practice for 2 hours go to school then when I get home I practice till it's dark. You can't say you have no chance when you don try. At this moment I'm currently getting looked by Palermo and Napoli because of the hard work and dedication I put in this sport. Also when you want to become pro you got to start living and acting like a pro giving yourself discipline. You never give up especially if this sport is your life.

I'm thirteen, I've played for Brentford (an English team one league lower than the premier league) and I play for my borough team run by QPR (in the same division as Brentford). Coming from me i would say: 1.) Always keep trying and train every day if you are truly dedicated to becoming a pro. 2.) Put yourself in scouting opportunities; I was scouted by Brentford at a tournament run by them. I left when their academy closed down but it was a great experience. 3.) Enjoy yourself. Loosen up and try to enjoy every win, draw and loss. It will both make you a better person on and off the pitch and it will increase your success rate whilst playing football. Do this especially if you get scouted. I hope this helped you guys and best wishes for the future.

I was scouted at a small county tournament for my local team aged 10 by Bristol City FC (coincidentally, my fav club before this) and now I'm 12 I've been here for 2 years and am playing every week. My tip is to follow your coach's system and tactics, stick to your position and, honestly, just play your best, work hard and always believe in yourself. One more thing is if you believe your players aren't committed enough, or your manager isn't working hard enough, you have the right to speak out about it. I did and my local club got a new coach who helped to win the league and adapt a new deep-lying play system, as well as high-pressing.

Tips from a a former scouted rugby player at top premiership academy. Rugby and football are very different but some things remain constant over team sports. 1. Genetics - look at your mum and dads height and body type. You will most likely be similar. Assess this against your position eg you are 12 and play goalkeeper, your mum and dad are no taller than 5'8 the keepers in premier league must be around 6'3'-6'6 with exceptions either smaller or taller. This will put you at a disadvantage down the road as teams in my experience when presented with two similar candidates will always take the one with better physical attributes. Summary - work with what you got and tailor your game in advance.

Watching this video makes me think whether it's too late for me. I'm 18 and I've always had a burning passion for football, I played for my primary school and high school football team but I wanted to step it up a notch and try going to academies to see if I was able to start making my way to the top of football. The thing is I don't know what to look for in an academy, I don't know the most suitable one for me and I've been trying to find one for so long. I feel like football is the path I want to take I just can't find it. I don't know whether I should stop chasing my dream or not because I can't find a good academy near my area as I don't come from a wealthy family or anything so money can be tight at times. I hope I can reach the top one day to repay my parents for all the things they've done even when it was hard for them

I really love watching soccer/football here in Australia, I am 12 years old and know a lot about the game such as it's history and the rules. I have never player football for a club, but I like playing it with my friends and family and I don't consider myself good or even average, in my opinion I am a very bad player. Do you think though that it is too late to be developed, not into a professional player or an amazing player,or even a good player but an average payer that can compete with other 12-14 year old kids over the next couple of years. I currently play basketball, but I really want to play football as well. I don't want to be a professional player for either basketball or football but I want to play the games that I enjoy. What do you think? Should I start football now, or should I give up hope? Thank you, -KosmicG.

I'm a Goal Keeper and have been for 15 years now, and when I was 12 I got scouted for Melbourne Victory, and played for their youth until I suffered a two year long injury, where my contract expired and didn't get another opportunity, then at the age of 15 I played for the reserves in NPL (2nd highest league), then at 17 I played Seniors in State 1 (3rd hughest league) , until I got another season long injury, and at 20 I was playing State 1 seniors, until I got injured for 3 months, now I play reserves in State 4 since I just got off injury 3 weeks ago, This shows, pro football can be a fingertip away, you can be nicknamed as the next Oliver Kahn, but it can all be taken away from you in one injury, so if you get injured, take your time to recover. Next year, I will make it back to NPL as a Senior player!!

Scrolling through the comments, I'm seeing some stories of other players and their experiences. Here's mine: I have dual citizenship. My dad is American, and my mom is English. Im currently living in America and my dad is in the U.S. army. We've moved house 5 times already, and it's about to be our 6th. We could have moved to Germany, but instead we got stationed in Denver, Colorado. I'm 16 in half a year and I'm trying out for an academy team there. For the past two months, I've been training everyday, trying to become the best goalkeeper I can be. This past winter, I went to an ID clinic for a college and the goalkeeper coach said I was the best one (goalkeeper) there overall. Being in America, I feel like I'm going to be behind everyone else in Europe. I saw a comment that said that I could potentially make a highlight video and send it to scouts. I'm thinking about that but I'm afraid it's too late for most clubs out there.

Scounts just look at height/skin colour. Then managers aren't good enough. Then players not playing in top leagues. Players are average at best. That's England's system now and England do poorly at world cups compared to Germany/Spain/France ect and will continue to do so. English teams just buy other players around the world because it's cheaper.
