Frame damage sucks. This needs to be repaired properly which costs a lot of money or time. You should look for another Sebring and use this car for parts. Btw, Samcrac's Focus RS had less severe frame damage and he gave it to a body shop to fix it. So I don't get why people are complaining in the comments that you don't fix it yourself. Hey Randy, Went through the same thing with my 2013 Dart on my channel. I spent a lot of time researching how to straighten or repair the rail. I ultimately parted the car out for lack of some paper work required here in Massachusetts. That being said, on the Dart, you can buy the full rail assembly, new, for around $350+ shipping. That comes with the strut tower, the rail etc, it's all spot welded in. You would (at least in my case) really want a frame machine and some good measuring tools to make sure it gets back into alignment after changing the rail. Chrysler has sectioning procedures for their cars. On the Dart, if the damage to the frame rail is in front of the sectioning line, you can replace a portion of the rail. However, if it is past the sectioning line, they state you must replace the whole rail. If you're interested, this site I found incredibly helpful with lots of info on collision repairs for my Darts. Might have some info for your Seabring. rts.i-car.com/search-by-vehicle.html Good luck!

*Rebuilt is just as a quick flip.* Cut of the frame rail support and straighten it out. Buy a head panel, bumper, headlights, fender, place windshield, paint it yourself and glue the dash airbag or wrap them both in leather. It's a nice, economical, clean 4 cylinder Chrysler with good carfax and AC. Even with blown airbags, it's worth at least $2000. Try it yourself this time Randy. If you metion that it had front damage and blown airbags than it's all legal. It can still be a great runner, for you it's a rebuilt learning experience and we get some rebuilt footage. Selling it as it is would be the very last option of a real ''Rebuilder''

If you part out the Chrysler, it'll be a quick buck, but if you invest in the frame rail repair, the bumper, headlight, everything it needs.. you could get $5000 out of it. Granted, discounts for prior salvage, maybe a clean $4200 car. You'll have inventory, and you'll have people getting interested and come out and look at it. Depending on how it all works out, you know better than us. You've sold a lot of cars the last two years and you know if investing in it or just parting it out will yield the best results. I would say parting it out, open it up to national shipping and you'll get parts sold faster. Maybe.

But Randy: Why the hell do you not start a challenging rebuild as the name of your channel suggests? I know for this Chrsyler you will need some serious help with the frame work (in a shop with a frame machine). But those frame repairs are made all the time. My dad and I are rebuilding a 2012 Mustang with bent frame rails... The rails aren't bent nearly as bad as yours, but we used a Port-a-Power hydraulic ram from Harbor Freight to pull the rails back, and then welded extra supports on. I'd like to see you rebuild this, but it honestly isn't worth it, unless you get a cheap donor car in. As for stripping the car to sell parts, I did that on a rear hit 2015 Focus. I literally stripped it to the bare shell and was able to sell a lot of parts. I would caution you, though, not to spend too much time stripping the cheap, undesirable parts. It isn't worth the time, if you have something better to do with the same time. There is a tremendous amount of potential in that car, Randy! Maybe a couple thousand if you strip it.

@jimmyjimjims74835 жыл бұрын
Personally I dislike Chryslers in general but at 90k it could still make some money. You're at $500 so all you really have to do is unkink the frame rail to the best you can and throw the front end on it (and paint it). So you're probably looking at $1k to fix it, $1500 all in. I see these for $2800 to $3k pretty often so it's not a bad profit but lots of work. The Prius however just needs the hybrid battery pack (which I believe is around $300) so that's a good buy.
@GearScar5 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be negative, but that car in good shape is like 1500-2000$ (these are known to be junk), it is far from being worth repairing. BUT I could easily see pulling $500 back out of it by pulling/selling parts, engine/trans would be the big ticket items, then suspension, brakes, and wheels if they are all decent, but the rest of it may be difficult to sell unless you've got people in your area needing certain pieces. Realistically these cars are made to be disposable, and when its broken it typically just gets crushed due to not being worth repairing.
@mohamedmehrez77265 жыл бұрын
It's so simple damage ...even it's not require a frame work ..only you need a pully chain block with clamp and a tree or ground anchor into ground to start ....

I've been watching your videos for a while and the original plan with the most recent 3 cars you've gotten (The prius, olds and sebring) was I believe to get rid of them quick and be able to put the money back in the bank for more vehicles at copart. If there is another sebring readily available that would be great but for the sake of time, effort and your business my personal vote is to sell it and do a quick double of your money. There will always be more and possibly better/more desirable cars to rebuild.

But as for content, I mean...it is Auto Auction 'rebuilds'. Probably would be nice to get a flooded sebring and swap out the panels and stuff. At the very least, it would be nice to see it done even if the profit isn't there. And in theory it is a cheap enough car that if you make a big mistake, it's not a big deal. If everything isn’t shifted the find a Sebring just saw of a part of a frame of another Sebring and strip that side and weld it back on idk if it’s possible it should work

Keep the Sebring, and use it for CONTENT! Find another one with a bad trans/motor, and swap it out. OR find another 200, Neon, anything that uses that 2.4 and swap it out. Fix it and give it to your brother. Don't just wimp out and get rid of it. You don't have to do it all at one time, do a series, and fix one thing at a time. Don't worry about the money end of it, you bought it sight unseen, take what you can from that and make something of it.

Rip the frt. parts off. Install a push bar across where the bumper goes and make a lot push and pull car for the lot. Cut some old tires up to put on bar to protect other vehicle.

Pull that bent frame out and check salvage for parts necessary to fix car. The only maybe large expense are the deployed airbags. Since the seat belts seem to work I would almost assume the car was parked when hit. I'm going on 59 years old and I own a 1993 Lincoln MK VIII and do most repairs myself. Go for it. Being a bit sore and a few swear words and you'll have a decent money maker.

A length of chain a tree and a ratchet is where you should start with the frame rail.

A Sebring rebuild would be about as exciting as a 40 degree day. I'd be curious though at what you could get for the engine and transmission.

Why all the hate? Randy does rebuilds all the time. Randy, I would either sell it all for 1k, or sell the parts on ebay.

I see 3 options.....Sell it As Is......Part it out.....or purchase another, same model from Copart that has been totaled in the rear end and use the parts. All parts in one purchase. I did this for my 06 M45.....I'm loving it one mile at a time.
