That happened to my dads Kia same thing as the K5. It was a starter issue around the same mileage. I might get my dad to buy it and fix it 😂

I’d definitely bid on that Kia. It may have been in a small flood and they just sent it down the road, but no water condensation in intake, it’s free and it doesn’t smell like water on the inside.

You've got my curiosity up about that Kia K5. That is practically a new car, and retails close to 30k, depending on options of course. I'd definitely bid on it Randy. But yes I agree way better than an American any day, but I choose not to buy one.

@@LSnium My wife drives nothing but Hyundai SUVs. Never had to use the 10yr. 100k Warranty yet. I drive a 19 Honda Ridgeline, no problems, yet. It was made here in America. The earlier ones were made in Japan, you know. The used ones you see with 200k. Time will tell.

A lot of times when those newer cars go dead and you hook a jump box up and try to start them they get confused and won't do anything so you have to get out close the door lock it unlock it and it should start after that

7:21 I heard a click of the starter belt trying to turn over the motor. It seems more like a electronic issue. I would go for it.

For that Kia, try closing the hood and trying again because the hood was flashing when you hit the start button so maybe it won't start with the hood open

I had a F150 with the 4.6 V8 and it had problems with the coils on it plus I had problems with the fuel pump drive module as well

Hi from OZ, on the Kia you need a hand trigger starter that can plug in where the start relay fits to over ride any starter inhibits, just make sure it's in Park first, at least you will see if it turns over, would be handy for a lot of these cars..

Hi Randy first red flag, no inspection stick so I would automatically change to fuel tank. Soon as you that, crank & start. Second change that fuel filter. Unfortunately because it's natural gas if it's sit it turn to varnish. But it's a reliable car.

A Kia won't start in theft mode. You need to take the physical key out of the fobe unlock the door and leave the key in for 30 seconds. Also the message about shutting down is not the engine...it will turn off accessories in 30 minutes

KIA sounds like a good purchase if it sells for a reasonable price. The Spark, I'd ride until you hear the person who sabotaged it tearing their hair out then I'd buy it. Some times it's the principal of the thing and cost isn't involved.

I bought a newer chevy van from a dealer ship that had very low miles and was in mint condition. I ask why I got such a great deal on it. They said they had to much inventory. Well come to fi d out it was a flood van. It ran like a new car. But while you were driving the windows would role down all by their self. The wipers would turn on and off all by them selfs. The heD lights would turn on and off when ever they wanted. After running the battery down a couple times I sold it. Water damage completely destroyed the wiring harness

I just recently bought a 07 Altima and they described the problem as all the dash lights would come on but if you hit the button again it would all cut off. Turns out it had a blow engine control fuse so with that being blow it would make the theft light light up and the starter wouldn’t even try to crank it

*might an immobilizer issue. Often people go to low quality shops to install remote starters/stereo/lights and the shops trigger the immobilizer which often totals the car*

You’re probably right. It looks like a Ford powered product, judging by the fact you said it was a 4.6 engine, and looks like a Ford instrument panel, and they have an immobilizer in the back, that shuts the engine and the fuel supply off if there’s a crash. There are instructions in the owner’s manual that tell you how to reset it. I remember, when I worked for a Ford dealership, there was a vehicle owned by a local television that kept on being brought back due to that issue, except the vehicle hadn’t been in a crash, but there was something that was stored on that side that triggered it.

You didn't have to climb over to put your foot on the brake. Just press and hold the start/stop button for 30 seconds on any push to start Kia or Hyundai.

Randy ya must remember that the cars these days wouldn't lock up like the ol cast iron blocks because now of aluminum blocks and heads and internals so If it was locked up it would be 10xs easier to unlock the aluminum parts. 2 bad these days cars aren't 4 mileage like my 97 Lexus ES300 with over 300 thou miles and body is still in great condition 8 outta 10 and motor still runs like a dream. Oh those Toyota Motors. Also my mom's 98 Avalon with the same V6 has almost 500 thousand miles and still running strong. Keep in mind that the Lexus we are the 3rd owner and my mom's Avalon she is the 2nd owner.
