Having become so familiar with Dr. John's videos of the past nearly 3 years now I love these older video even back 15 years. What has remained consistent is his clear and understandable (even for a lay person) way of imparting knowledge and information. The wonderful voice has lost none of its magic and for me it is so helpful and even consoling the hand drawn diagrams or as in recent video the various uses of the pen on documents and statistics. It is a teaching method but one that he has mastered wonderfully. I think the accent is North Country but am not sure. It is certainly enchanting for an English speaking non Brit like myself. I could and have listened to him during hours. It is a reassuring voice as well as educative.

The fact that this was uploaded 5 years ago, does NOT mean the video is 5 years old. It’s pretty obvious that Dr John is more than 20 years younger in this lesson, it’s simply not possible that someone can age so quickly in a 5 year period!

This looks like it was shot on video, so it could be up to twenty years old. It was only posted to YT five years ago.

@Katniss The cat His videos go back more than 15 years ago. Out of curiosity I have been catching up on some of them. I only discovered him 2020 due to the corona mess. He has been brilliant through this crisis. He was really very attractive and indeed noticeably younger looking but his voice and manner of sharing knowledge and information are very much the same. He is a true professional and a treasure to humanity.

smoking, working in chemical plants..yes, dangerous gasses. But smoking is always claimed to be the only and most important cause, when amonia, cyanide , methyl, acids, will do their own part of damage aswell. Because companies need to be protected from liability ofcourse. It's always the smoking they point at as cause, but then why do some smokers never get any of those complaints.
@globalman Жыл бұрын
@ Diaman D There are probably several reasons. Genetics I imagine the main point. Some people are more vulnerable to illness and others are very resistant. So there are some people who never smoked who have gotten lung cancer for example but possible due to chemical or second hand smoke exposure. And indeed there are smokers who don't have lung problems due to smoking. Although few people speak of the breakdown of the immune system in other areas due to smoking. I have never smoked and have been quite healthy all of my 76 years. But my mother and father did. It was their generation. My father did have severe COPD but my mother only ever had that usual hacking morning cough and an ever deepening voice with age. But she had many other illnesses not acknowledged as smoking related. It also has to do with environment, lifestyle and nutrition. But again even people who do their utmost to live healthy lives can become ill but again it may be family genes and/or inherited weaknesses in the body.
