Ultimately, her desire to be accepted eats her up on the inside, either because she hasn't been honest with who she really is, or because she's trying too hard to please everyone but herself.

I had no idea this video was so perfect. I just posted the video for the song, because I related to the song to describe my thoughts, but then I saw the video afterwards, and it's exactly how I feel. I was looking all night for a song to describe what only this video has said, because nobody knows

With your eyes closed, Watching a strange show Play out in your head, But you were smiling somehow And your day froze, And everyone in it Sat still as a rose, But we were moving somehow. Back to where we started, Losing who we were, Maybe we should only Tip a bottle back to keep us filled up. Back to where we started, Losing who we were, Everybody knows that, You’d break your neck to keep your chin up. Open your eyes, And the drops come, And a snail raced down to your neck, And looked up, But you were smiling somehow. Back to where we started, Losing who we were, Maybe we should only Tip a bottle back to keep us filled up. Back to where we started, Losing who we were, Everybody knows that You’d break your neck to keep your chin up.

@neongeno5 I think it's supposed to be her checking her mail several times a day. It's sort of like a representation of her being paranoid about being accepted. That parcel she receives in the mail is the gratification that she seeks to affirm her worth. Well, that's my understanding.

no, it's because she was suffering in the first place, and despite being surrounded by people, she was empty inside, and as time passed, she became increasingly aware of it. She tried to distract herself, with the video, with cleaning, with friends eventually even though she was isolated in the first place... then she realized that even having friends wouldn't help the loneliness, she was forced to face her truth.

People who dislike this video just don't get the meaning behind it. I won't be your english teacher and analyze this for you. There's a reason it was shot like this instead of with flashy lights and colors. It's raw. Figure it out.

@GuitarHero2790 Well, right. I'm saying that Deathcab made that hole (early Deathcab was maybe a little Red House Painters mixed in with The Beatles, or some shit?) a little wider, so bands like Copeland could reach a broader audience. Not that any of this is of consequence. Also, I'm not talking about any top 40 bullshit.
