I really love his tone. It's great how the whole orchestra is enjoying the music, not just the audience.

I've listened to every clarinetist on KZbin performing this piece. As a professional clarinetist myself, I've never heard anyone play with such control & musicianship as this guy, no one else even comes close. It sounds as if he is riding on a pure stream of air, without 1 waiver. His high notes speak effortlessly, even his throat tones are as pure as sparking spring water. This is definitely one of the best performances I've ever heard, on any instrument.

I concur glenwebb2001. Thorsten Johanns is all of the other Clarinetists who played this piece rolled up into one, to include the legendary Benny Goodman and Martin Frost. What a memorable performance this extraordinary musician has given us. Kudos also to this outstanding orchestra who made Thorsten Johanns shine.

He plays really good but you never listened Stoltzman's recording for sure. It is the best and this one is a bit close to his recording. Note: I am a professional clarinet soloist+professor in a state conservatory =)
