It looks great, just make another video of the joint upside down to see the results. Unfortunately in the feild the conditions are not as in this video. But if it works at 50% of the cases it is still worth aplying this

Put 3 rings and steel washer on, press up on the the washer with a rod while it's heating and just don't melt the washer. I don't fucking know tho never done this shit ever.

If the joint is upside down then you use common sense and feed the solder by hand instead of making a ring.

@nakefatty9167 no it's not you have to surround the fitting both sides with this. A torch has a good 6 inch stem with a diameter of a dime. You don't even have to be close to the joint. This thing requires a open area torches dont

@alexgreenland5852 get a smaller rig. Mine is half that weight if that, and has more than enough capacity to get you through even multiple installs. Plus this didn't penetrate into the joint. You want it to suck down into the joint for proper strong bond.

Brasagem! O metal de adição, liga de estanho, tem ponto de fusão inferior ao metal base, cobre. Na solda o metal de adição tem o mesmo ponto de fusão do metal base, por serem ligas semelhantes! 👍

Ive done a lot of brazing. That looks really good. Dont worry about these keyboard experts. That really works with running perfectly to surround the joint with a a clean flow. I used to brase evaporators in whirlpool refrigerators and had to use a heat shield and a mini torch. I still had to spread thermal paste everywhere.

I disagree. Didn't suck down into the joint properly. And i ain't no keyboard warrior. I do this for a living. Little reach in coolers, massive walk in coolers with 5 8ft evaps, 20ton package units... you name it I've worked on it.

Just use the torch, there are places where only the torch can reach, plus some old joins only work if you feed the solder constantly on all 360 while on fire.

This isn't soldering it's brazing which requires a lot more heat using a much stronger filler metal than solder.

I like it !! Now add a length on the on the tee , long enough for a camera to fit into , cap both ends , camera end cap gets hole for camera wires to pass through and also serving as a purge port . On the other end cap hook up a regulated hose to Dry Nitrogen NF , and then braze . Pressure just low enough where it won’t blow the brazing solder out …. Medical gas brazing baby !! Ya! So when I was certified , although I never did it as a career … I then did it this way to date for any piping I was brazing

I was so confused because I read brazing and saw this. It took me a second to realize it was induction.😂 I like a torch better because you can get really precise with how it flows. That and it's really satisfying when you get the heat just right and chase it right in.

Looks like a good idea but you should apply the flux inside the joint so the solder can flow in to it. It doesn't look like you did that based on where it went when it melted.

Looks good. But since 20 years their allready are Press Systems out there. Look YT Video " REMS Pressing System " . If someone were to do that in Germany today, it would be considered bungling. Because soldering is outdated and more hours are billed because it takes too long. I did an apprenticeship as a gas water installer myself 20 years ago, so I know that :)

"in Germany" Haha. So much overengineering and special tools. Solder is great. those press fittings look like hell and your still putting your faith in an o-ring. Why not build the entire piping system out of o ring material.

Looks like the silver stayed on top of the joint no penetration inside the hub. Also borax was used not necessarily used on non ferrous metal.

That was the first thing I noticed. Looks like none made it into the joint. Maybe if soon as it started to melt he went straight to heating the hub it may of sucked some in. But the way it was done here it didn’t seem to take much in

If not in particularly tight spaces it's still way faster to do it the old-fashioned way. Even if that clip wouldn't be sped up it takes longer for a single joint than it takes for half a dozen woth a torch

I don’t see any of that brazing ring bleeding into the joint, as there’s no heat in the T to pull it in. Is this an acceptable weld? Seriously, I don’t know. I’m used to heating up the T (or any female part) and bleeding the solder in after the acid cleans the connection…

Looks like this way could cause some premature failure in the pipe/ adapter. Gets so hot it looks like it pulls it way in and thins the actual pipe as well, but I’m just going off what I see. I’m no plumber by any means

Neat idea but I have done thousands of soldered copper joints, and I can tell you you got that fitting way too hot. It will be brittle and break the first time anybody puts any pressure against it!
