Blue- Basic Salvage kit or Copper-Fed Green- Runecrafter's. if you dont have that use Basic Salvage kit or Copper-Fed Yellow- if Tp sell price is higher then ecto sell. if its lower then ecto price salvage with Silver Salvage kit or master/mystic salvage kit Orange- If the items sell price is higher then 50S sell it on tp. if not salvage it. (look at the sigil/rune on the item first tho)

Ideally, save (*edit*) black lion (*/edit*) salvage kits for items that have runes or sigils you want to keep. Any other salvage kit will destroy those upgrades.

Rune crafters should be used if you want the upgrade component (rune or sigil) the best kit if you don't is the mystic at a whopping 10.496 copper or 34.608 karma per use. The catch is it takes mystoc forge stones, if you don't have those around then rune crafters (30c per use) for greens and if you happen to have a silver fed (60c per use) then use that for anything higher to get the maximum ectos, but again only if you don't have forge stones.

@@dumatrising2421 To clarify, Runecrafter still salvages the upgrade (turns the sigil or rune into motes). It took me a while to notice the specific wording: "salvaging upgrades" = transforms it into base materials, while "recovering upgrades" = preserves the original upgrade while salvaging the rest. So Runecrafter is great if you want to get motes for crafting runes, but not for extracting them.

I do a lot of farming metas (mostly dragonfall) and I have to say... If I didn't have the copper fed salvage kit I would have lost my sanity by now. Not only is it actually cheaper in the long run, but like you said, it is SO incredibly convenient. Having to buy 10 salvage kits for just one stack of unidentified gear (especially if you do farm trains where you get LOT of stacks) is just a pain in the butt.

I absolutely love me Copper-Fed Salvage-O-Matic. I play a lot of WvW and get a lot of salvageables. It saves me time and money on kits and makes me a nice profit at the trading post.

Quality of life is the main reason I'm going to buy this and hopefully Runecrafter's as well if it returns. I don't know how many times I had to go back and forth areas/maps just to buy more salvage kits but if I timed all the situations where I had to then I'm very sure it would rack up hours and hours of time that could've been used for more farming.

I agree that time & inventory space should be calculated into the price. That's quite difficult to do exactly, but if a Dragonfall/Drizzlewood meta run nets you 20G/hour, even losing out 5 minutes because you have to port to a vendor and then regroup with a commander tag is pretty significant.

the selling point here is the salvage all option, instead of a lot of clicking involved when using the traditional salvage kits. Think that's what broke my mice. :)

You can even salvage items in your inventory when it is sitting in your bank. If you have the bank access contract, you could leave it in your bank and save a shared slot that way. But yeah - it would add an extra step to your salvaging process and make it less convenient that way...

Great review of the CFSoM, I've had one for about year and its saved me a headache in making up Mystic Salvage Kits. Anything other than Rares and above gets lobbed into it. Exactly, I feel like there's not enough guides for either new or veteran players for this game. I even had a problem of finding the best upgrades for aquatic gear because I wasn't sure if the runes from normal helmet work underwater or don't (they don't)

Aye, that one took me a while to learn! The rebreather becomes your hat underwater so it needs the same rune to maintain your set bonus.

Definitely not. Mystic Salvage Kit is way too expensive to warrant using on greens.

This actually got answered in the video! It's better to ID the gear before you salvage it because it has a chance to turn into gear of a higher rarity. You can get exotics/precursors from un-ID'd gear.

I love my copper fed salvage omatic i might be using it wrong given i dont have a silverfed or runecrafter. However i use it on everything given it saves on inventory space. I like it when i farm drizzlewood coast particularly.

I just use the copper fed on blues and greens. I can't be bothered to make mystic salvage kits every other day to salvage the amount of greens I get. Maybe the runeforger's should be my next purchase.

I was destroying everything blue and green and then I would either buy yellow kits for yellow items or I would destroy them with the special kit.

With the way loot works now I cant imagine the game is even playable without copper fed, unless you just sell unidentified gear. You easily get like 250 blue and 200 green unid gear from one large meta, it would be such a pain to do that with basic kits.

idk. i dont think theres a huge argument for copper or silver fed. its not that big of a deal to use salvage kits. when you need to salvage just go sit at a vendor for a few minutes. its not like youre busting open unidentifieds as you get them to salvage. bag space is never an issue if you do your salvaging from the vendor runecrafters salvageomatic on the other hand, no other salvage kit in he game (besides black lion) does what it does.

I was given a Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic as a gift from my wife. Knowing that it costs an additional 1 gold every 175 salvages over the Copper-Fed. Then again, I would need another shared bank slot to share the copper-fed. Ignoring cost, does the silver offer any improvement over the copper on blue items?

@@diogoreis6367 green gear has minor sigils/runes on them. the Runecrafter's salvage kit has a 100% chance to remove and salvage the sigils from gear that has it, so a pretty good chance at the essence. the master/mystic/silver-fed salvage kit only has a chance to drop the sigil and on top of the low chance for the essence. so the odds are too low to make it worth the cost of salvaging using those kits

I covered that in the video :) According to the people much math'ier than me: Use a "low quality or copper-fed" kit on blue items and below, and better kits on green and above. On green items the difference is minimal so you can save your best kits for yellows/oranges if you want.

I disagree with the overall usefulness of this. Generally I carry a couple of basic salvage kits and a Mystic forge one for rares. If I need to salvage a stack I just stand by the merchant so I can sell items that only produce metals, including blues, and salvage them all before moving. The saving is just 13 copper coin per 25 uses, let's call it half a copper per use so miniscule compared to the price.

WTF... ive been right clicking the items in my bags and selecting sell item on the trading post.. then sold it, then closed window.. went back to bags, repeat.... and you just showed its possible to go directly to the trading post and choose the tab "sell items"... and all the actual items i have in my BAG appears...sortable on prices! /faints........ been doing it the manual way i mention since the game came out.... :/ now i never have to manually search for if one of my items are worth way more than other...(so i dont accidently sell it to a vendor) this... is.... incredible....and... i .../facepalm so hard....

I never buy low quality salvage kits, seems like a waste. The higher quality salvage kits produce bettter salvage components which equals to more profit. Why would anyone buy low quality salvage kits?
