I notice that you cast downstream and crank against the flow. But I would cast upstream and crank with the flow. I always do a side sweep cast so the lure skims across the water surface before it sinks. I avoid the overhead cast, as the lure produces a loud splash. So which casting technique is better? I use a 30 year old original German d.A.m spinning reel and telescopic casting rod (1.5 meter). Separate spools for different line sizes are there, so I interchange them according to lure weight while fishing. Regarding fly fishing, which weight forward fly-rod and fly-line are best suited to your area?
