Is it possible to fish with rod and reeel? My family got some property in delta junction which is like 3.5 hours from chitina...I want to plan a salmon mission haha

There are some tiny side streams where it might be possible. The main river runs so fast that it's impossible to fish a lure. There's also a small waterfall with a small pool at the bottom that holds a lot of grayling. Those are very easy to get becaus they're kinda stuck swirling around in that small pool. hehehe.

Such a sad ending to what was an awesome trip up to that point. Your first and only time to sleep in your truck ☹️☹️ I completely understand why you were so tired. Limited sleep the night before. A long physically draining period on the river that was extremely demanding. Thank goodness over estimating your physical capacity did not end your life. I REALLY hope you will never PLAN to do that again. Just curious, were you able to salvage most of the fish you caught? PLEASE take care of yourself and remember this experience. BTW, there are devises that will detect and alert you if you start to fall asleep at the wheel. Might be a good investment for you just incase.

Damn bro this is your last video with your red 4Runner. Glad you made it out with no broken bone. That 4Runner is a beast. I’m a suburban guy. Kenai fish gets big when is a good run and kasilof is about average size in a good run not small. Keep up the good videos. 🎣🏔👍

Man, you're insane wearing full waders and not having a harness and being roped off yourself. I literally had to jump into the Copper river to save a guys life who after losing his footing had his waders fill up with water and pull him under. His loud gasp for air is what clued me in on his demise. Luckily for him I was on the swim team in high school and still in good shape. Now days, I'd be placing a cross for him. Always harness and rope up when dipping Chitna. People die there every year.

Glad you’re ok! Had to lean the same lesson the hard way years ago coming back from an early morning salmon session, ended up in a ditch two blocks from home. Since then I always pull over and sleep, plus never check out mentally until you’re in park somewhere safe. Good job on the fish and another great video. What was your total fish count?

Sorry to intervene but a lot of people say that there much bigger and healthier from the copper river then other places. But Kenai reds are also good when they are at the mouth of the river. Kasilof is ok, but the waters a bit muddy, but the netting is way good and fun there; most the fishes are much smaller in sizes also but just a whole lot of fun for family and kids
