Annealing the wire after twisting will make it easier to hammer, then again after hammering will make it easier to turn on the mandrel. You can anneal copper by heating it just to red hot in a gas flame, either a torch or your kitchen hob will work.. then drop it in cold water and it'll be very malleable. Great work, looking forward to seeing more!

What is used for the oxidation? That's the only material I need to start making rings like this. I've also got sterling silver wire. Would I do the same steps with that, or are there any extra steps I'd have to do? Beautiful ring 😊

A lot of waste material cut off here. By starting with a slightly longer wire it could have been cut in half, and two rings made.

Slicing the covering off that copper wire by pulling a sharp blade TOWARDS your fingers is not smart. One slip and there's BLOOD, lots of it. Don't do it.
