Coppicing a Hawthorn hedge

Today i began coppicing a hawthorn hedge that was no longer serving its purpose. The objective is to rejuvenate the hedge by cutting it low and allowing it to grow back thicker. A thicker hedge will be more beneficial as shelter for cattle and provide ideal nesting for birds.
