Got injured in an accident? You could be one click away from a claim worth millions. DETAILS: thecivilrightslawyer.com/2024/11/13/cops-bust-in-a-home-force-the-family-outside-and-handcuff-the-dad-who-i-interview/ Cops with the Idaho Falls, Idaho Police Department busted in an innocent family’s home, breaking their front door, looking for a third party fugitive. Though the homeowner knew his constitutional rights and demanded a warrant, the cops claimed they didn’t need a warrant because they believe a dangerous fugitive (the girlfriend’s brother) was inside. They did come inside and forced the family outside into the cold for about 30 minutes. During this time period they handcuffed the dad, even though he was suspected of no crime and there was no search warrant for the home. The problem is, according the U.S. Supreme Court in the 1981 opinion in Steagald v. United States (1981), exigent circumstances to enter a home do not exist merely because the police know the location of a fugitive, even if they possess an arrest warrant for that person. They must also have a search warrant for the residence. The instant they violate the constitution they are no longer law enforcement officers. LEO. They have no rights beyond a regular civilian at that point. They are armed and breaking into a home. I support REAL law enforcement officers, I have ZERO respect for individuals who violently or peacefully step outside the constitution to get there "job" done. I also believe that permanently preventing them from serving as a LEO doesn't solve the problem 30-90 days in jail with no pay and a demotion likely corrects them (like you do a child) and can lead to better law enforcement if they continue their career. They will remember the correction the people gave to them and pass them on to their trainees. Even if it is just for self preservation. This is the nature of corrective actions intent. They do it again, 3 strikes and you are out. Straight 20 years prison time with no parole will be an excellent incentive to follow the constitution. Require general population exposure daily, they will remember and truly respect the constitution my family members have committed and given their lives to upholding.
