Why is fasting essential?
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, One God, Amen
The Church in her wisdom has adopted Fasting from the earliest of times - fasting was even customary within Jewish practice. (Examples of Kings and Prophets who fasted in times where they wished to repent and return to God) Often fasting was tied in the idea of humbling yourself before God. We are therefore reminded that fasting is a constant reminder of WHO we are - we are God’s creation, His Children, and He is Our Lord and Savior. But fasting is shared by many religions and beliefs, whats different about ours?
