Ive got the 460, good boats for bang for buck. Personally if you arent going to do much creek work and mainly fish the islands id go a 490, i feel like im pushing the limits of the 460 but it handles everyrhing i throw at it

Well in that case ive had my 460 100k offshore, pick your weather right and it just comes down to how much fuel you carry

nice sesh on the trout there bloke!! every time I try stickbaits I donut, gotta use 5 inch paddle tails if I wanna catch them haha. im gunna give it a try again next time out (when the wind lets up) what size leader do you use on that one??

I usually run around the 60lb which can be an overkill but every now and then you run into a flats GT, if you cant get a nib on stickbaits try downsize to around the 100mm stickbait

@@gripnripfishing866 awesome, I've got some 60lb so I'll run that next time, yeah I've just got some new better stickbaits so hopefully they are more enticing than the cheap ones. Good to see you use a loop knot as well, I was wondering weather to run swivel and a split but I'll keep running the loop, cheers.

@@Hugo-bx3qc yeah sometimes ill run a swiv and split ring if i think im gonna change a bit, have a look at the nashy custom lures srick baits in 120mm and 100mm they are my go to for trout round the islands

You will be blown away by how many options there are, check the zoning maps first as there are alot of green zones. The islands opposite white haven beach are a good starting point.

Honestly mate that type of fishing is new to me. Being from down south all we get excited about is kingys and tuna. I'm to chase trout using your vids. Last time I hired a boat but simply couldn't find anything. However I didn't go to Whitehaven.... figured it was too far. Is there anything closer around marina side? Or just head straight for Hazelwood? Thanks for your help mate.

If you only want 1 set up id get a 5000 to 6000 size spin reel, 30lb braid PE 3 rod will land you just about anything
