I'm not sure if somebody mentioned it already but I think the reason why it's called Ukay Ukay is because you need to dig in to find a good item. Usually in Baguio how it's done is you wake up early in the morning and wait for the people selling on the streets and they literally open the balik bayan boxes and you do the Ukay Ukay until you find a good item. But now people setup shops that sells selected items from Ukay Ukay and call their shops as Ukay Ukay as well.

Always make sure the UKs(2x) are bleached pretty good. Color safe bleach will make it hygenic to wear again
