I always felt this game was a top tier movie tie in game, not counting the other Star Wars games released at the time. Animations and models are actually really high quality for the time
@Corax9 ай бұрын
Right? I was pleasantly surprised by how good they looked too! Originally, the cardboard cutout of Obi-Wan was supposed to be the actual game model that I'd animate but I couldn't find it anywhere!

If you want to play the campaign, you could always ask my Dad if he is willing to play with you. He's also a great co op buddy. My dad only got to play the first mission with me sadly, before we forgot about it and buried under a PS2 Lego Star Wars game. @@Corax

When i was a kid i always imagined how episode iv would play out. I mean you can play with vader and ben kenobi at the end. I thought we would have a lego star wars situation and then have from phantom menace til return of the jedi. Then the force awakens came out and i forgot about that idea and i'm glad i did

The reason 2000-2010 was peak for stars wars adjacent media, such as videos games, was because it was that sweet spot in the timeline: George Lucas, the orignal creator, was still at the helm and still passionate about creating the prequels and was involved in alot for these games AND, just as importantly, alot of the people that were working on and managing these games grew up watching and loving the OT and felt honored to work with George to expand the universe. It's why we see SO MUCH passion put into even games like this. Because every single person there loved star wars and was eager to leave their mark on it. I'm sure there are tons of people at Disney now that grew up with and love star wars. But they lack that top to bottom honor and passion that I feel this Era had.

Real talk, I have ALWAYS wanted someone to make a story about Anakin winning the battle on Mustafar, whether that'd be in a movie, a show, a game, whatever. What would Anakin do? How would he rule? Without the influence of Darth Sidious, would he turn back to the light side, or stay in the dark? Perhaps he might even find a balance of both. It's just such a fascinating concept to me and I'm shocked that nothing other than this game's brief alternate ending really delved into it before; at least, nothing I'm aware of.

The DS version of this game is also awesome, it's a Beat 'Em Up with it's own unique cartoon art style they made specially for it! The sprites are amazing, the animations are top notch, and it's SUPER satisfying to play. They also have flying levels where you fly in various starfighters. There's a PVP mode where you can fight each other in dogfights with ships like the Slave 1 and Millenium Falcon in Couruscant!

Ah nostalgia overload Fun fact there's actually an exploit in this game where if you block a full chain from an opponent, there's a brief period where they can't act but you can attack right after the chain finishes. After figuring this out, the whole game is a relative cakewalk. Except when fighting someone using force heal, force heal is busted.

Great vid, loved this game. A detail for the jedi holograms: if all three of them get slashed during the fight with Serra Keto and if you listen closely, the Jedi Code they recite becomes buggy and poorly spliced, leading to some darker, Sith-like sayings, such as "A Jedi will....hate. There is no....peace."
