I love KZbin because I get to hear all those old songs that I haven't heard in years and it takes me back to being about 15 again when the radio waves were filled with rich voices and a beautiful mix of genres and sounds.... If most people remember Paul Cotton at all, it is for "Heart Of The Night" from 1978's Legend album. Paul was an excellent songwriter and guitarist. For my money he was, for a 15 year stretch, the world's finest singer. It's a shame that so few people appreciated him during his life. RIP Paul Cotton. You will be missed. Check out the following songs by Poco: Down On The River Again, Streets of Paradise, This Old Flame or Barbados; or I Can Hear Your Heart Beat by Paul Cotton (solo) and see if you don't agree that he was one of the finest male singers of his generation.

Jeff, glad to see your post. Couldn't agree with you more. Paul was such a sweetheart in person, too. In the late 80s/early 90s I had occasion to meet him several times at a friend's house. The first time, she was giving a luncheon and since my mother had just been widowed at 74, I took her along. Paul treated her with such respect and kindness. The next time he saw Mom he gave her a personally-compiled tape cassette of ten of his songs, the names of which he wrote on those little lined cards which accompanied blank tapes in those days. She adored him and treasured that tape. I'm six years older now than Mom was at the time she met him. And I have that tape sitting on my desk as a small memorial to him...and to her, too! R.I.P.

I've got a pretty good idea why they aren't in the Hall of Fame - they weren't controversial, they concentrated on the music and weren't a bunch of teen idols. They just did their thing and said "Here it is, listen to this." Only 4 Top 40 hit singles during their time, but a lot of unforgettable songs.

I was hoping for an actual live performance, but I'll take what I can get. Poco was one of my favorite groups, and it's great seeing Paul and Rusty here. Charlie Harrison and Steve Chapman were originally just the session guys for "The Cotton-Young Band", but when the record company heard what they came up with, they wanted to go ahead and release the recordings as Poco. And that's a bit of the story behind Poco's biggest album.

I’m a rare midwesterner who not only,y has heard of Poco but likes them as well. I got into their music after The Eagles broke up in the early 80s. I was rebelling against the new wave synth pop that took over the world.

Love this song from my 15h year, even though I never knew it was about New Orleans. That steel pedal makes the song.

The soundtrack of my childhood here, haha. Between these guys, Dr. Hook, The Eagles....and all that great soft rock/country crossover that was on the radio in the late 70's when I was very young:-). This song reminds me of sitting in the back of our family's 74' AMC hornet on a summer evening with mom and dad down at the local drive in getting ice cream treats. This song, and "Chevy Van", haha.

Just before this song came out, I loved “Crazy Love,” but to me this was their best. Can’t hear it without being transported to the summer of ‘79 and catching pop flies in left field. This was just before 7th grade. I’m sure it’s in my top 5 favorite songs.
