Probably one of the nicest TJ's Down Under. Seats look awesome, and the AEV's look fantastic too. Discovered you via the wranglertjforum. New sub here - Cheers

Thanks for the video Darryl and good to see a fellow Aussie Jeeper. I have a question on the lever mechanism to tilt the seat forward for a rear passenger to climb in, which I think was that lever on the base plate you bought that had a small section at the end with a 90 degree bend in the part of your vid where you talked about the rear passenger being able to actuate it by foot. Does that protrude at all into the rear footwell or does it entirely tuck under the seat to keep it out of the way? Also, do you find it difficult to access from the front to tilt the seat forward to gain access to the rear from outside of the Jeep? I ask because I have an 01 TJ and the lever to tilt the whole seat forward to be able to access the rear footwell (to say get at the jack under the seat) is on the bottom of the earlier TJ seats on the rear of the seat and it's a pain to get to because there's not a lot of clearance between the rollcage and the seat so you kind have to stick your whole arm over the top of the seat and fumble around down bottom until you hit the lever. I'm worried that with this under the seat, it may be even more difficult to actuate the forward seat tilt to get at the jack or the rear footwell.

The passenger seat is a different mechanism to the drivers. Use that one to get rear access. With the drivers The I tilt the back forward and then use the Corbeau rear lever to tilt they seat forward. Works well for me although I’m only 175cm so not 6’4 or anything

Love it. I consider changing mine out soon but maybe a tan to match the Sahara tan interior I have?

Thanks Liam, the tan looks the goods!

Hey mate. I’ve heard you should get aftermarket seats engineered / certified, and stick a plate in oz? Do you know who is able to do that?
@DarrylSheather3 жыл бұрын
Luck for us (sarcasm mode on) each state in Aus. has its own set of rules pertaining to modifications. An automotive engineer should be able to help out with regard to what you can and can't do and how to get things legal..

I want to buy these seats for my girlfriend for my jeep TJ but she has neck and back problems so I’m trying to find a nice comfortable seat so she will go for wheeling with me… You talked about the install and how they looks but are they comfortable and great for Offroad

Hey I'm thinking about getting these seats for my tj I'm six feet tall and my only worry is that I won't have any head room. How is the head room?
@DarrylSheather4 жыл бұрын
I'm 5'7 and its ok, but I'd get the complete replacement basefames instead of the ones that I have that bolt to the OEM versions. According the Corbeau the replacement versions are quite a bit lower.

Yes it does

Next question, I just got these mounts delivered today. I'm noticing that you did the driverside in the video. My driver side has two cables. Did yours have two, and if so, how did you route those. My TJ is a 2005.

@@DarrylSheather did your seats with this set up eventually go down a little. I feel like I'm riding super high right now

Dominic Grefsrud I think I’ve just got used to them, it’s normal now but when installed as stated you felt super high. Did you sort the mount with the two cables ok? Was going to check mine for you

Hi Darren, All good still happy with them. Although like every seat there's only one sweet spot in the backrest adjustment.

Saw your videos earlier! Had to give you a sub, looking forward to more TJ content! Quick question, when fitting these seats did you have to buy a subframe or did you use the existing one from the seat? I’m sure I watched you use the existing one?
@DarrylSheather5 жыл бұрын
Great to have you onboard, I'm running the standard base frames with an adapter frame from Corbeau. You can also get another base frame from Corbeau that does without the OEM base frames and lets the seats sit lower. However with those you'll lose the OEM base frames tilt facility.
@JeepWranglerchannel5 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. What about comfort?
@DarrylSheather5 жыл бұрын
Hey, Yes lots more comfy, everyone who rides in it makes comment that they are better.. I did find you can get a lower mount from Corbeau too if you don't care about losing the OEM tilt forward bases. That said quite used to the higher seating position now.

Did you try to find the most annoying music for this video? Or did it just work out that way? I have an "uggh" count of 207 in the annoying music.

I would have painted those ugly rust orange seat pans black. prob even used a wheel cutter to cut that ugly lip off the back too.
