For a simple hack, you can make use of the stretcher in an umbrella as a cheap alternate for the blue tool ^^

also you can pull the ink cartridge out of a plastic bic pen and cut a groove with a razor.

Well I dont want to leave the space between the knot and the center or the knot and the beats. That 1 cm slag does not make sense to me it looks sloppy, any suggestions ?

+Anibal Rodriguez That small space in the Hail Mary beads allows movement between beads as they are prayed. It also gives the Rosary some flexibility so that it can be folded. A cord Rosary should not be stiff. Hope that helps explain that a little. God bless!

Allison Solon I happened on the straw idea as well-- interesting someone else did too. Yes, a straw works, but because it's so flexible, it's not the greatest. I finally found the blue tool through Gifts Catholic Inc.
