Cordless Sterling 4 | Wahl Clipper Review

Are you wondering of buying this clipper but not sure if it is worth buying? In this video I review the Wahl Sterling 4 Cordless Clipper
I‘ve been using this clipper for over a month now and i must say, it’s a great damn clipper! My Magic Clip broke and so i decided to give this Sterling 4 a shot. And boy, do i love it. Motor Power
For a cordless fading clipper, this clipper has a pretty strong motor. It comes with a rotary motor but With other fading clippers, i noticed when cutting through bulk it tends to stutter. This clipper does cut through bulk a little easier than the Magic Clip. Not a huge difference, but enough to notice. By no means, does this clipper cut through bulk like the senior or even powerful detachable clippers. But it is pretty good.
Battery
Another great thing about this clipper is the lithium ion battery, which can last up to 90mins running time. One great thing about lithium ion batteries is that you dont lose any performance when losing battery life. It’ll just shut off out of nowhere when battery runs out. I never have that problem because i have a habit of always plugging it back in when im not using it. Also, the clipper can go weeks without being charged and battery life is preserved, you can pick it up after weeks of not using it and battery life will remain.
Quality and Feel
The quality and feel of this clipper is superb for the price. It doesnt feel or looks like a cheap clipper but it also doesnt feels and looks like very expensive clipper, It just feels right. It comes in all glossy black which i love with some customizable pieces. It measures at 6.25 inches and weights 10.2 oz. It is super comfortable and ultra light.
Price
Which brings me to the last great thing about this Wahl Sterling 4 Clipper, the price. This Clipper runs for about $100, i bought it for $93 but it’s always going on sale on Amazon. Its going for $73 right now in the making of this video. Whether youre paying $100, $90 or $73 I think it’s worth every penny. Its durable, comfortable, extra light on your hands, and its great all in one clipper for bulk removal and fading. Not to mention all the accessories that comes with it, plastic guards from #1 - #8 including half guard and 1 ½ guard, a comb, customizable thumb pieces.

Now, with all that said, there are a couple of downers about this clipper that can actually change your mind about buying it.
Blade
And the biggest downer is the blade that comes with it. It is a round 1005 three hole blade. Not sure why the “3 holes system” You can still zero gap the blade, just another screw to tighten.
And on top of that it comes with a curved blade not a flat fading blade. Nothing wrong with a curved blade but it might not be what you want. It also doesn’t show anywhere on the product box and description what type of blade it comes with.
2. Missing guards
The last downer on this clipper. It comes with all the plastic guards ranging from 0.5 - 8 except guards 5 and 7.
To conclude this review. It think this is a great clipper, you’re getting a lot for the price you pay. It looks good, it works phenomenal on both bulk removal and fading, long lasting battery and all the extra accessories you get with it. It’s the perfect clipper for beginners but also works wonders for experienced barbers.
I ended up switching my blade housing from my Magic Clip to this Sterling 4 and added on a Ceremic Blade Cutter. This thing is a beast now and my go to fading clipper.

I've got a cordless Wahl Salon Series 6000cc and love it, pretty sure it's a rebranded model... Not sure if it's a Magic clip with the taper blade or a Sterling 4 like this? Looks exactly the same. Great review by the way. Thanks
